Abayomi Azikiwe, the Editor of the Pan-Afrikan News Wire, will speak in Toronto on Saturday, September 13th, 7:00 p.m., at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) - 252 Bloor Street West. Azikiwe will expose the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's (CBC's) bias against Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe.
Azikiwe has worked for many years as a broadcast journalist on five different radio stations in Detroit and Toronto. Azikiwe, an anti-imperialist, serves as the spokesperson for Michigan Emergency Committee Against War & Injustice (MECAWI). He has been a fierce critic of the imperialist wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. As a Pan-Afrikanist he has attempted to broaden the anti-war movement to include Afrika and Haiti in to the anti-war mix.
Azikiwe can be heard every Thursday at 9:30 p.m. on CKLN, 88.1 fm -Diasporic Music.
