TRIPOLI, (AFP) - - Sudan and Chad will exchange ambassadors on Sunday, six months after diplomatic ties were ruptured, with Libya supplying the plane to transport the envoys, a foreign ministry official in Tripoli said.
"The Libyan plane will take the Chadian ambassador to Khartoum and then return to N'djamena with the Sudanese ambassador on board," said the official, quoted by the official JANA news agency .
The exchange follows an agreement reached in Tripoli about two weeks ago.
Sudan broke off diplomatic relations with Chad in May, accusing N'djamena of sponsoring an unprecedented assault by Darfur rebel group, the Justice and Equality Movement, on the capital Khartoum.
Chad denied any involvement. Relations between the two countries have long been tumultuous, with each denying accusations that they are supporting rebel movements fighting their respective regimes.
