Raúl receives Vice Marshal Ri Yong Ho, chief of General Staff of the People’s Army of Korea
PRESIDENT Raúl Castro Ruz yesterday received Vice Marshal Ri Yong Ho, chief of General Staff of the People’s Army of Korea, who is on an official visit to our country.
The meeting, which took place at the Palace of the Revolution, highlighted the excellent state of bilateral relations, an expression of the historic ties of friendship which unite the peoples and governments of Cuba and Korea.
Current international issues were also discussed.
The military delegation accompanying the Vice Marshal, General of the Army Corps Julio Casas Regueiro, minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR); and Army Corps Generals Cintra Frías, López Miera and Espinosa Martín, FAR deputy ministers also took part in the meeting.
At the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces
During the morning hours of November 3, the distinguished guest and his delegation were received at the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (MINFAR) by General of the Army López Miera, deputy minister of the FAR and other central leaders of the institution. Conversation flowed in the cordial and friendly climate that characterizes the relations between the two armed forces.
Subsequently, Vice President José Ramón Machado Ventura conferred the Order of Solidarity on Vice Marshal Ri Yong Ho, of the People's Army of Korea.
During the ceremony, the delegation's other military leaders received Combative Fraternity and Distinguished Service medals. Also in attendance at the ceremony were Cuban Army Generals Cintra Frías and Espinosa Martín.
Vice Marshal Ri Yong Ho and his delegation returned to Korea yesterday evening.
