Commissioner-General Augustine Chihuri has urged wives of senior officers to remain patriotic and vote for Zanu-PF in the forthcoming elections. Speaking at the Kuyedza Women’s Club 2013 leadership
workshop in Selous yesterday, Comm-Gen Chihuri said there was a need for people to know their history, the present and their future.
“Zimbabwe is your country and you don’t need to be a stranger in your own country.
“Let’s respect our country, let’s protect our country because it’s the only one that we have and it’s the only one you will ever have,” he said.
Comm-Gen Chihuri urged officers and the public to be inspired by Mbuya Nehanda who impressed upon the people of Zimbabwe to safeguard the country against the machinations of colonialists.
Several wives of police commanders, including Comm-Gen Chihuri’s wife, Isabel, are undergoing the week-long training.
