Rival protests were held for both pro-Morsi and anti-Morsi supporters in the North African state of Egypt.

An announcement yesterday that former chief of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Mohamed ElBaredei, had accepted the post of Prime Minister was later revealed to be unconfirmed.

The Republic of Sudan has officially announced that it is supporting the Blue Nile Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam under construction by Addis Ababa. The proposal for the dam was opposed by the deposed government of President Mohamed Morsi of Egypt.

The ZANU-PF party of Zimbabwe has put forward its election manifesto for 2013. The program calls for the indigenization of industry and the maintenance of the country's independence and sovereignty.

Finally, there have been further clashes between demonstrators and police in Turkey. The unrest has been taking place for weeks between opposition forces and the government of Prime Minister Erodgen who heads the NATO state.
