A joint committee of both the Republic of Sudan and South Sudan will meet on outstanding bi-lateral issues this Tuesday. Border issues and support for various rebel organizations will be on the agenda.

The United Nations and the African Union (AU) are sending a combined delegation to the Central African Republic and South Sudan to assess the state of insurgency groups working in the area. There are ongoing armed conflicts in both states which could prompt greater international interventions.

JPMorgan Chase, one of the largest banks in the United States, is facing numerous legal challenges related to the economic crisis. Chase was a leading figure in the mortgage lending schemes which created millions of foreclosures and evictions across the country. Chase also is a major player in the burgeoning municipal debt crisis.

Finally, Kenyan warplanes have bombed areas inside the neighboring state of Somalia. The Kenyan Defense Forces are saying they have attacked bases of the Al-Shabaab Islamic guerrilla organization in retaliation for the siege at the Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi on September 21.
