In the Southern African nation of Zimbabwe the government has announced that it is changing its policy on mineral rights, extraction and exports. The statement was made recently and published in the state newspaper The Herald.
Two high-level naval officers have been stripped of their access to classified material amid an ongoing investigation into contracts related to military affairs in the United States. Admirals Branch and Loveless have been accused of inappropriate conduct in handling sensitive matters involving the Pentagon.
There has been a renewed outbreak of violence in the North African state of Libya where shoot-outs are taking place in Tripoli and Benghazi. In the birth place of the counter-revolution in the East, efforts are underway to break from the West and South of the oil-rich state.
Finally, the governments of Brazil and Germany are seeking to pass a resolution in the United Nations that would ban spying by intelligence agencies against governments and heads-of-state.
