Former South African President and African National Congress (ANC) leader Nelson Mandela has been eulogized throughout the country and the world. Mandela passed away on December 5, 2013 at his home near Johannesburg.
On Tuesday, December 10, Mandela was memorialized in front of tens of thousands at the FNB stadium in Johannesburg. He then laid in state for three days at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
This broadcast from Sunday December 8 featured freedom songs from the South African national liberation struggle as well as excerpts from speeches delivered by Nelson Mandela.
Mandela has gone down as one of the great leaders of the 20th century. His legacy will be subjected to fierce debate among various political and economic forces.
