The Nigerian Senate has passed a vote of confidence on the military's counter-terrorism war efforts in the Northeast of the country.

The Senate also commended Chad, Niger and Cameroun for supporting Nigeria's war against Boko haram terrorists.

Senators from the three States states affected by the insurgency, Adamawa, Borno and Yobe, had raised a motion of urgent national importance to commend the Nigerian military and the multinational troops fighting the war against Boko haram.

They said many major and minor towns have been liberated in their constituencies.

Other senators commended the renewed spirit of unity and patriotism among Nigerians in the fight against terrorism.

The senators are hopeful that the fight against terrorism will achieve much more success before the scheduled March 28 General elections.
