SACP Welcomes the Ejection and Suspension of One Mr Julius "On the Point of Tenders" Malema From Parliament
10 September 2015
The SACP welcomes the ejection and suspension of one Mr Julius "On the point of tenders" Malema from Parliament on Wednesday, 9 September. "On the point of tenders" is a much forgotten Public Protector report into the wave of tender corruption that almost swept away the Limpopo provincial government a few years ago. Malema, who the South African Receiver of Revenue (Sars) found that he owed R16 million in tax, was clearly implicated. The Public Protector found that he benefitted through his Ratanang Family Trust and shareholding in Guilder Investment from unlawful and corrupt tender practices and related activities.
Malema was dismissed from the ANC, the ANCYL and removed from all the positions he held while he was pursuing the corrupt politics and economic crimes such as the ones described in the report, "On the point of tenders" and in the findings of the ANC national disciplinary and appeals committees. He made the EFF his alternative, disruption, disrespect, hooliganism and baseless allegations against other people its politics.
Malema`s forked tongue and its malice can endanger the lives of other people if left unattended. The action by Parliament to eject and suspend him yesterday after his disruptive refusal to withdraw un-parliamentary language and defamatory allegations against Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa was the most appropriate under the circumstances - in defence of our democratic transition!
