Our program features the regular PANW report with dispatches on the aftermath of the Zimbabwe Africa Day called the Million Man March where hundreds of thousands came out to demonstrate their support for the ruling ZANU-PF government; there is a renewed insurgency in the oil-producing southern region of the West Africa state of Nigeria launched by an organization which has destroyed production facilities over the last several weeks causing an oil shortage inside the continent's largest economy and populated state; former South African president and ANC leader Nelson Mandela's will was read this week prompting widespread international attention; and former first lady and political prisoner Simone Gbagbo had her appeal rejected last week by the neo-colonial courts in the West African state of Ivory Coast.

In the second hour we interview Toronto Bluesologist Norman Otis Richmond who discusses the campaign to officially reestablish Black Music Month in the United States.

The final hour concludes our monthlong commemoration of Africa Liberation Day through a continuation of the recognition of Shirley Graham DuBois and other luminaries in the Pan-African struggle
