Writers Union of Korea Launches Agitation Drive for Increased Production
Pyongyang, October 10 (KCNA) -- Writers of the Central Committee of the Writers Union of Korea are conducting active frontline-style agitation for increased production on the front for recovering from flood damage in the northern part of North Hamgyong Province.

    Writers in Pyongyang and local areas conduct agitation for increased production through presentation of works and loudspeaker-agitation while touring northern areas and units producing materials for recovering.

    In Musan and Yonsa Counties poets of the Central Committee created dozens of poems including
"Let Us Go to Northern Front!" and "Sounds of victory boom on front full of love for people" and conducted agitation drive among tens of thousands of people.

    Members of the North Hamgyong and North Hwanghae Provincial Committees of the Writers Union went to the construction site for dwelling houses in Hoeryong City and Onsong County to join in the drive of builders while creating works.

    Meanwhile, poets in Pyongyang and local areas who were dispatched to the Chollima Steel Complex, Sangwon Cement Complex and Sunchon Cement Complex created many poems to call upon workers to conduct the drive for increased production.

    Writers of the South Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the Writers Union encouraged the workers with such poems as "Here is also the front of recovering from flood damage in northern part" at the Hamhung Woodenware Factory.

    Poets in Nampho City and Kangwon Province have created many poems including "To the Party's Call" to encourage workers who have turned out in the shipping of cement and other materials.

    Writers in Jagang, South Phyongan and Ryanggang Provinces have created many works including "Stars move."


Transport Ships Leave for Disaster Areas

Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Transport-ships loading cement leave Hungnam Port in South Hamgyong Province, the DPRK for the flood-hit areas of North Hamgyong Province one after another.
    A brisk campaign for shipment of cement goes on at the port where wharf cranes and forklifts are in full operation day and night.
    These days alone, tens of thousand tons of cement were sent to North Hamgyong Province via the port.


Shock Brigade Movement Brisk in Flood-hit Areas of DPRK

Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- Young people in North Hamgyong Province, the DPRK have conducted the shock brigade movement in its flood-hit areas.

    The number of its participants reaches over 104 000.

    They have performed such great feats as restoring hundreds of dwelling houses, rebuilding railway, bridges and roads in 120 sections covering more than 110 000 meters and completing the embankment in scores of sections.

    Taking the lead in building dwelling houses are those in Hoeryong City, Kyongwon, Musan and Kyonghung counties.
