Youth League Officials Start Study Tour of Kim Jong Il's Birthplace
The officials of the youth league from across the country began their study tour of Chairman Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp in the run-up to the Day of the Shining Star, a greatest national holiday.

A kick-off ceremony took place at the concourse before the statues of the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in Hyesan City, Ryanggang Province, on February 1.

Present there were officials concerned, youth league officials and members of the study tour.

The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets at the statues, recalling with deep emotion the immortal exploits of the peerlessly great leaders who built a youth power without parallel in the world, steering the Korean youth movement along the road of brilliant victory and glory by implementing the policy of giving prominence to young people and loving them throughout the whole course of leading the revolution.

Pak Myong Jin, a secretary of the central committee of the youth league, delivered a report to be followed by speeches.

After the ceremony, the members of the study tour marched to Pochonbo, shouting revolutionary slogans and singing revolutionary songs.

Working people from all walks of life and youth and schoolchildren in Hyesan warmly saw them off.
