Military sources in Eritrea revealed to the Lebanon-based Al-Mayadeen news network that two attacks have been carried out against Israeli forces stationed in Eritrea.
The sources indicated that the first attack took place at an Israeli base in the Dahlak archipelago, and that another attack targeted the highest peak of Mount Amba Sawyer, which Israeli forces use as an observation post in the Red Sea.
The source said that Israeli forces are stationed at their largest base abroad in the Dahlak archipelago, and its air fleet includes dozens of fighter jets.
The sources also confirmed the killing of an Israeli military officer, Al-Mayadeen reported.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks, and Israel is yet to comment on the reports.
Yemen, Iraq
On October 22, caretaker Yemeni government of Prime Minister Abdulaziz bin Habtoor said that if the assault on Gaza continues, Israeli ships will be hit in the Red Sea, adding that Sanaa has contributed and will contribute to the regional responses to the massacres in Gaza.
This comes in conjunction with the Iraqi group’s continued targeting of US forces based in Iraq and Syria, including Ain al-Assad, Al-Shadadi, Harir, al-Tanaf, Konico, and the Al-Omar oil field, in addition to targeting US forces at Abu Hajar Airport in Kharab al-Jir.
In recent days, there have been multiple incidents targeting Israelis in several countries.
Gaza War
All of this comes following the Israeli war on Gaza.
Israel has, thus far, killed over 7,000 Palestinians in Gaza, including nearly 3,000 children, and wounded over 18,000 more.
Palestinian Ministry of Health reports and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.
Israel says that 1,400 of its citizens were killed in Hamas-led attacks on October 7. Many of those killed are soldiers and officers in the Israeli occupation army.
Gaza has been under a tight Israeli military siege since 2007, following a democratic election in occupied Palestine, the results of which were rejected by Tel Aviv and Washington.
