Al-Qassam’s statement comes shortly after the Israeli military announced that it had made a “new incursion” into the besieged Gaza Strip last night.

Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, announced on Friday that it had foiled an attempt by Israel to land its forces on the Rafah beach in the southern Gaza Strip.

So what happened?

In a statement, Al-Qassam Brigades said that its fighters discovered a landing attempt that took place at dawn today, Friday, and clashed with the Israeli forces.

The resistance on the ground “necessitated the intervention of the Israeli Air Force, which saved the (Israeli) force (on the ground), so it fled towards the sea, leaving behind a quantity of ammunition.”

Al-Qassam’s statement comes shortly after the Israeli military announced that it had made a “new incursion” into the Gaza Strip last night.

Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said joint Israeli military forces carried out a raid inside Gaza, without giving much verifiable details.

Hagari added that the army maintains high readiness to deal with every emergency.

Earlier, the Israeli army published a statement saying infantry, engineering, and armored units led by the Gaash 36 Formation had taken part in the operation, as well as military drones and helicopters.

The occupation military added that during the air incursion and artillery, its forces attacked the neighborhood of Al-Shujaiya, east of Gaza City, in addition to anti-armor rocket launchers belonging to the Qassam Brigades.

On the other hand, Palestinian sources said that the Israeli forces penetrated a very limited area overnight, at the furthest outskirts of Beit Hanoun, north of Gaza, and the Al-Bureij refugee camp in the center of the Strip.
