Actor Ron Perlman has joined a list of entertainers who say they plan to boycott Georgia after Republican Brian Kemp won the state’s gubernatorial race, even though Democratic candidate Stacey Abrams called for them not to do so.

“I appreciate the calls to action, but I ask all of our entertainment industry friends to support #FairFightGA — but please do not #boycottgeorgia,” Abrams said on Twitter Friday. “The hard-working Georgians who serve on crews & make a living here are not to blame. I promise: We will fight — and we will win.”

“With all due respect, you DID fight! And you DID win. Your great and inspiring run was snuffed out by cheating, and suppression, both things that run counter to the American way,” Perlman said in response. “I cannot see myself working in a state that tolerates that.”

“There are countless States in this great country that offer incentives to boost employment for their workers,” he added. “And there are countless States that play by the rules and honor the sanctity of one man/one vote, regardless of skin color. I’ll invest my time in those!!!!!”

Perlman joins a number of celebrities — including Alyssa Milano, “West Wing” actor Bradley Whitford and Steve Pasquale — who have announced plans to boycott film and television productions in the state, where a large number of projects are filmed.

The acting secretary of state in Georgia announced Saturday that the results of the Nov. 6 general election had been certified, confirming Kemp’s victory in the hotly contested governor’s race, which was dogged by accusations of voter suppression from Abrams and her Democratic allies.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Kemp led Abrams by 54,723 votes in the race, giving him a margin of victory of 1.4 percentage points.
