SEVENTEEN PEOPLE'S FACTORS FUELING THE WORLD'S STAND FOR GAZA

By Julia Wright

African American diplomat, Linda Thomas Greenfield, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, arrived on October 18th at the Security Council dressed to the hilt and prepared to raise a war mongering hand that will go down in history.

The resolution would have allowed "humanitarian pauses in the conflict between Israel and Hamas to enable humanitarian aid access to the Gaza strip".

Because the membership rules for votes and vetoes in the Security Council are stacked in favor of the great powers, the U.S. knew its sole vote could prevent the humanitarian pauses. And so, alone against the world, the U.S. voted for war.

Although much of body language analysis is, I believe, a pseudo-science - I was struck by Linda Thomas Greenfield's sartorial choice as she knew what she was going to vote for on that day.

She wore a chic Chanel style top, suited to the solemnity of her anti-peace vote (Madame Coco Chanel was, as we remember, unconditionally pro-Nazi) but what strikes the observer most is the color choice and the pattern: large black and white rounded chequers.

At first glance, one associates to mourning colors although one wonders what she is mourning since she is on the point of voting for an exponential increase in Palestinian deaths.

But then I did a double take and wondered: was she wearing - intentionally or unintentionally - an elegant vest that, seen from a distance, could have been cut out of a Palestinian flag - and what message did that send?

Was she trying to have her cake and eat it - donning a suit with curved black squares similar to those on a flag belonging to the very people she was sentencing to death - as if attempting to send the message that standing alone to save the world against "human animals" is martyrdom too? In any case it would seem she was hijacking her victims' flag.

We know our own symbols are often co-opted and that these things are scripted.

As I sign off, at the Security Council the Israeli Ambassador to the UN as well as his delegation have theatrically pinned yellow stars to their expensive suits, once again obscenely battening on the Holocaust to play the victims and with a lack of empathy likening them to the nazi final exterminators.   This histrionic and cynical recourse to history is to "collectively punish" Secretary General Antonio Guterres and his UN colleagues for not totally towing the Israeli war mongering narrative.

As for Linda Thomas Greenfield, her sartorial choice is a symbol of the widening cracks, divisions and embarrassment of the U.S. government over the Biden-Netanyahu co-genocidal pact.

Josh Paul, a State Department and Congressional staffer, has not only resigned but has borne witness to widespread dissension against the neocons and the hawks inside the U.S government.

Mirroring these ominous divisions, there are increasing street protests in Tel Aviv fed by a growing number of anti-Netanyahu Israelis who were opposing his far-right judicial reform way before October 7th. To the point where it is said that Netanyahu welcomed the Hamas attack and the pretext to invade Gaza to distract from his unpopularity. Just as Biden seems happy to have Israel's war to support now that Ukraine is not doing as well as planned.

2 - Another factor that is creating a tectonic geopolitical shift worldwide is the unstoppable grassroot factor of street protests that by now approximate the anti-Vietnam war resistance movement. Not even a budding backlash can equal the street tsunamis. And as Vijay Prashad and Zoe Alexandra reported on People's Dispatch, the synch October 27th timeline between the UN General Assembly adopting a toothless resolution for a sustainable humanitarian truce - with so many cowardly abstentions - and in real time just down the street the takeover of Grand Central Station by thousands of Jews for Peace, is truly indicative of people's power. As Angela Davis said on October 27th: " Palestine is a moral litmus test for the world ".

Throughout the world, there are daily marches, rallies, sit-ins, direct action, walk-outs, BDS, and shutting down of arms factories:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dv-Ks0vi9oE

Globally the trade union movement is becoming a cornerstone of this grassroot upsurge.

In some Middle Eastern countries like Jordan, U.S. brands like Starbucks, McDonalds and Coca-Cola are being boycotted.

3 - Until the ground invasion took place, the western media blackout on Gaza was replaced by teams of on-the-spot independent journalists and civilians who became the journalists of their own ordeal by documenting the crimes against their humanity with their laptops, smartphones, makeshift mikes. Internet was weaponized and that is how the world was able to see the genocide unfold in real time, going digitally viral.

For the third day now, to cover up any incriminating footage, the IDF has plunged Gaza in darkness, cut internet and power lines on top of the fuel, water, food, medicine blockade. But it is too late: the world saw enough to get moving. What is left to imagination is always worse.

4 - As the October 16th and 18th anti-humanitarian votes by the United States at the Security Council show, America is now clearly a rogue state in the eyes of the world. And the rogue votes also show that the U.S will continue to hold the United Nations hostage unless the Security Council is not just reshuffled but radically restructured to reflect the rise of the Collective South.

5 - 80 % of the world's population - most of the Global South - condemns the Israeli genocide.

6 - One-half to two-thirds of U.S. voters are now favorable to voting for independent parties.

7 - 66 % of U.S. voters agree the U.S. should call for a ceasefire.

8 - Only a minority of countries in the world recognize Hamas as a terrorist organization - essentially North America, Canada, Western Europe, Japan, Australia and Egypt.

U.S. votes against peace at U.N./Geopolitical Economy Report - October 28 2023

9 - The October 27th United Nations General Assembly resolution for a sustained humanitarian truce introduced by Jordan reveals increasing unity in the Arab world in favor of a free Palestine.

Here again the pro-Palestinian pressure of the street is a determining factor destablizing those U.S. vassal Arab elites who increasingly would rather side with their people to stay in power.

10 - The Israelis - past world masters of PR spin and mind control technology - are losing the narrative war.

11 - The resistance of the people of Gaza against Apartheid is the resistance of all liberation movements against Apartheid and colonialism everywhere. As the late Nelson Mandela said: "South Africa will not be free until Palestine is free".

12 - Alongside Angela Davis, the Critical Resistance movement has stated that abolition means no more war and that dismantling the Prison Industrial Complex is connected to the global movements against war, militarism and colonialism.

Likewise, we in the Mumia coalition say that if Biden has the hypocrisy to claim he cares enough to send planes and bombs to free those taken hostage in Gaza, he should also look inwards to his own hostages - aging U.S. political prisoners, invisible and unrecognized, buried under decades of rubble of media blackout and cruel and inhumane treatment.

13 - Everywhere the youth, the students, the campuses are moving with uplifting messages from the Palestinian Youth.

Movement (PYM) who refuse to be seen as victims but rather stand up as "agents of revolutionary change".

https://www.counterpunch.org/2023/10/29/the-palestinian-youth-movement-in-a-time-of-war/

14 - Already radical scholars, academics and the Stop Cop City movement are connecting the militaristic dots whereby the cop cities of the USA are often heavily dependent on Israeli training.

15 - Following cracks in the armor of  the U.S. government and divisions in the Israeli government, a top OHCHR United Nations diplomat, Craig Mokhibe , has just resigned over what he calls the UN's failure to address "a textbook case of genocide".

His principled and caring letter of resignation may be found online at Democracy Now, November 1st 2023.

16 - Chile and Colombia have recalled their ambassadors to Israel while Bolivia has cut diplomatic ties with Israel citing crimes against humanity and a threat to international peace and security. This should be the beginning of a domino effect

17 - China has started to delete the State of Israel from its online maps:

Top US Commanders in Tel Aviv Directing Israeli Genocidal War; Israel's Defeat 'Definite': Iranian General

 October 31, 2023

A senior Iranian general says commanders from the US Central Command (CENTCOM) as well as the US Army and Navy have traveled to Tel Aviv to assist Israeli officials in their military onslaught against Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

“The Iranian Armed Forces have received information that commanders of the CENTCOM, as well as the US Army and Navy, have teamed up with Israeli commandants at an underground base in Tel Aviv to supervise and direct the Zionist regime’s brutal offensives against Palestinian people,” Major General Gholam-Ali Rashid, commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said at a gathering of Iranian police commanders and officials in Tehran on Tuesday.

He added, “This shows that the United States’ measures run counter to its claim of restraining the war in the region as thousands of destructive bombs and missiles have already been sent to occupied Palestine, and directions plus support for ground battles are being provided [to Israel].”

A leaked Israeli regime document proposes the idea of forcing over two million people in the besieged Gaza Strip into Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, laying the ground for their ethnic cleansing.

The high-ranking then lashed out at Washington for its hypocrisy and duplicity.

General Rashid also expressed confidence that the resilient Palestinian nation, together with fighters from Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other Gaza-based resistance groups, will eventually triumph over Israel and the US, and will inflict losses on them.

Israel waged the genocidal war on the blockaded Gaza Strip on October 7 after Hamas conducted Operation al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity.

Since the start of the aggression, the Tel Aviv regime has been committing war crimes in Gaza, killing at least 8,525 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring some 21,048 others.

The Tel Aviv regime has imposed a “complete siege” on the territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.

'Ceasefire Now': Anti-war Protesters Confront US Officials at Senate Hearing

Tuesday, 31 October 2023 7:23 PM

A large number of protesters with their hands covered in red paint symbolizing blood have interrupted a congressional hearing, demanding Washington stop funding Israel's killing of Palestinians under siege in Gaza.

The anti-war protesters repeatedly called for a "ceasefire now!" as US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin were appealing to the Senate Appropriations Committee on Tuesday for billions of dollars more of US taxpayers' money for funding the military forces of Israel, Ukraine and other Washington allies.

They denounced Washington for funding the Israeli regime forces committing genocide against millions of Palestinians in the occupied lands.

Although US budget deficit has widened to $1.7 trillion, Biden has requested $106 billion mostly for Ukraine and Israel.

The protesters who had their hands covered in red paint to show the US government had blood on its hands due to the Gaza genocide stood in the crowd and called for "Ceasefire now!" and "Protect the children of Gaza!"

One protester cited the thousands of Palestinian children killed in Gaza since the brutal Israeli forces launched airstrikes and, recently, a ground offensive.

The anti-war protesters stood up one by one as Blinken wanted to begin his speech before shouting over him again.

He was forced to pause several times. The police quickly escorted the protesters out. It said 12 people had been arrested.

Blinken acknowledged he heard the protesters during the session. However, he insisted the US must stick to its allies, giving all-out support to the Israeli forces in their weeks-long killing of the Gazans in the besieged Palestinian territory with US-made weapons.

"I ... hear, very much, the passions expressed in this room and outside this room," Blinken said at the end of his opening remarks.

"All of us are committed to the protection of civilian life. All of us know the suffering that is taking place as we speak, all of us are determined to see it end," he said.

He added, however, that it was imperative that the US stand with its allies.

Austin too insisted that it was a "moral responsibility and strategic imperative" for Israel to minimize civilian casualties within Gaza and the West Bank, where some Israeli settlers have murdered more hapless Palestinians.

US President Joe Biden, who claims that funding US allies is vital to America’s security, has asked Congress to approve tens of billions of dollars for Israel, Ukraine, Chinese Taipei and other military purposes.

Since the latest spate of violence between Israel and Palestinian resistance fighters in the Gaza Strip began, western countries, most notably the USA, have voiced their unequivocal support for Israel and ignored the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

Biden's call for funding the Israeli forces to kill the Palestinians has drawn huge criticism amid international appeals for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza to protect the civilians under the Zionists’ fire.

Meantime, the protest at the Capitol Hill hearing reflected the heightened tensions that have arisen in the United States since Israeli forces started the mass killing of Gazans on October 7 when the Al-Aqsa Storm operation was launched by Hamas.

While Blinken and Austin were asking for more money, FBI Director Christopher Wray and US Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas were at a separate congressional hearing explaining the new threats in the US.

Wray said the US supporting the Israeli regime forces' ongoing slaughter of the hapless Palestinians blocked in Gaza, who are mostly women, children and the elderly, "has raised the threat of attack in the United States to a whole other level."

The FBI chief said the agency is concerned about the potential for individuals or small groups inspired by Hamas to attack within US borders. He said the FBI is on the alert for Islamophobic attacks as well, pointing to a federal hate crimes investigation that is ongoing after an Illinois man was charged with murder at the state level after the killing of a 6-year-old Palestinian-American boy. "This is not a time for panic, but it is a time for vigilance."

Meanwhile, Muslim American leaders and a number of Democratic Party activists have said they will work to mobilize millions of Muslim voters to withhold donations and votes toward Biden's 2024 re-election bid unless he takes immediate steps to secure a Gaza ceasefire.

The National Muslim Democratic Council, which includes Democratic Party leaders from hotly contested states likely to decide the election, called on Biden to use his influence with Israel to broker a ceasefire by 5 p.m. ET on Tuesday.

In an open letter entitled "2023 Ceasefire Ultimatum," the Muslim leaders pledged to mobilize Muslim voters to "withhold endorsement, support, or votes for any candidate who endorses the Israeli offensive against the Palestinian people."

At least 8,610 Palestinians have been killed since the Israelis started the onslaught of Gazans earlier this month, while more than 23,000 Gazans have been wounded in the besieged territory. The Apartheid Israeli regime forces' "total siege" of Gaza has left a dire need for water, food, medicine and fuel across Gaza.

Israeli Gaza 'Concept Paper' Mirrors 1948 Palestinian Nakba

By Al Mayadeen English

The Palestinian President's spokesperson says the mass displacement of Gazans is tantamount to a declaration of war.

A recent report by AP shows that the Israeli Intelligence Ministry has drafted a plan detailing a wartime proposal for the forcible displacement of the 2.3 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip into the Sinai Peninsula.

The Israeli occupation Prime Minister downplayed the proposal of the mass displacement as being simply a hypothetical "concept paper", however, its concluding remarks eerily mirrored the brutal events of the 1948 Nakba.

This proposal of systematic dispossession and displacement has put additional strain on the occupation's relations with Ramallah and Cairo.

“We are against transfer to any place, in any form, and we consider it a red line that we will not allow to be crossed,” Nabil Abu Rudeineh, a spokesperson for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, said, commenting on the report. “What happened in 1948 will not be allowed to happen again.”

Mass displacement, the PA spokesman said, would be "tantamount to declaring a new war.”

Similarly, the Egyptian authorities fear an engineered wave of forcibly displaced Palestinians by "Israel".

Egyptian officials didn't comment on the report, however, earlier President el-Sisi addressed this prospective issue, saying the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza could threaten the 1979 "peace treaty".

The report, which dates back to October 13, was first published by Sicha Mekomit, an Israeli news site.

The report contends that changing the "civilian reality" in Gaza would be necessary to neutralize the "threat of Hamas" and optimize Israeli security.

Based on that premise, the report proposes:

Establishing a "security zone" in occupied Palestine to prevent the displaced Palestinians from entering.

In this context, a report by the Financial Times revealed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sought to convince European leaders to put pressure on Egypt to accept the Palestinians "Israel" forcibly displaces from Gaza, according to people briefed on the discussions.

The idea, which he put forward in meetings with European officials last week, was floated by countries including the Czech Republic and Austria in private discussions that led up to a summit of EU leaders on Thursday and Friday, those people told the Financial Times.

However, key European countries, notably France, Germany, and the UK, have dismissed the proposal as unrealistic, pointing to Egyptian officials’ consistent resistance to the said idea, even temporarily.

“Netanyahu pushed quite hard that the solution was for Egyptians to take Gazans at least during the conflict,” a Western diplomat said. “But we didn’t take it very seriously because the Egyptian position is and has always been very clear and they just won’t do it.”

Iran, Qatar tackle Israeli aggression on Gaza

A second Western diplomat said they believed the pressure of a continued Israeli aggression on Gaza could yet lead to a shift in stance. “That’s the only thing that can be done . . . so now the time is to put increased pressure on the Egyptians to agree,” they said.

Back on October 10, senior Egyptian security sources confirmed that the Israeli occupation entity sought to propose and "recommend" corrupt "suggestions", noting that among them was the suggestion to "settle the people of the Gaza Strip in Sinai."

Security sources told the Cairo News Channel that these suggestions were "rejected and will continue to be rejected by Egypt," stressing that the entirety of the Palestinian people stands against any such suggestions.

On his part, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said this month that his country rejected “any attempt to liquidate the Palestinian issue by military means or through the forced displacement of Palestinians from their land, which would come at the expense of the countries of the region."

Last week, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian pointed out that "the ultimate goal of the fake and occupying Israeli regime is the forced displacement of the residents of Gaza and the West Bank to the Sinai region of Egypt and parts of Jordan."

Amir-Abdollahian made this statement in a phone call with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry as part of diplomatic consultations with officials from Islamic countries regarding the need to stop the war crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against the people of Gaza.

The top Iranian diplomat once again announced the readiness of the Iranian Red Crescent to send humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza through Egypt.

He indicated that "Tel Aviv is trying to establish a Palestinian state, outside the historical land of the Palestinians, but resistance has been the main barrier to the realization of the troubled dreams of the Zionists."

Earlier today, UNRWA, the United Nations agency for Palestinian Refugees, cautioned that the restricted number of aid vehicles entering Gaza is inadequate to address the "unprecedented humanitarian requirements" in the region.

"The handful of convoys being allowed through Rafah is nothing compared to the needs of over two million people trapped in Gaza," UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini told the UN Security Council, referring to the sole border crossing between Gaza and Egypt.

As per UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric, a total of 33 trucks transporting water, food, and medical provisions arrived in Gaza via the Rafah crossing on Sunday.

Prior to the ongoing Israeli aggression, "Israel" enforced a blockade on Gaza, which includes land, air, and sea restrictions, resulting in severe repercussions for Palestinian civilians. The occupation controlled everything that entered Gaza, including fuel and medicine, and Gaza used to receive approximately 500 trucks daily.

"The system in place to allow aid into Gaza is geared to fail unless there is political will to make the flow of supplies meaningful, matching the unprecedented humanitarian needs," Lazzarini said, urging the Security Council to demand an immediate humanitarian ceasefire.

Lazzarini said 64 of his UNRWA colleagues had been killed in just over three weeks, "the highest number of UN aid workers killed in a conflict in such a short time."

He mentioned that a United Nations employee named Samir, along with Samir's spouse and eight children, had lost their lives shortly before his statement.

"My UNRWA colleagues are the only glimmer of hope for the entire Gaza Strip... but they are running out of fuel, water, food, and medicine and will soon be unable to operate," said the Swiss-Italian official.

"An entire population is being dehumanized," he warned.

Hundreds of Palestinians Killed, Wounded in ‘Horrific Massacre’ in Jabaliya

Israel carried out a new ‘horrific massacre’ in Jabaliya, in the northern Gaza Strip, which left hundreds killed and wounded.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said on Tuesday that the Israeli army committed a new “horrific massacre” in Jabaliya, in the northern Gaza Strip, leaving hundreds killed and wounded, Al-Jazeera reported.

On Tuesday afternoon, Israeli forces bombed a residential neighborhood adjacent to the Indonesian Hospital in Jabalyia.

The Ministry indicated that, according to a preliminary estimation, there were 400 casualties, including killed and wounded. The number, however, may be higher because the area that was bombed was “densely populated,” according to the ministry.

In an interview with Al-Jazeera, the Ministry’s spokesman described the situation in the hospital as “catastrophic,” noting that the largest number of victims were children and women.

According to Al-Jazeera, the director of the Indonesian hospital said that the victims suffered burns and deformities that show that the occupation used “internationally prohibited weapons” in the bombing, noting that the hospital will stop working completely tomorrow evening due to a lack of fuel.

The Interior Ministry in Gaza said that the Jabalyia camp was bombed with 6 bombs, each weighing a ton of explosives, and that Israel destroyed a residential neighborhood in the center of the camp.

Israel has, thus far, killed over 8,500 Palestinians in Gaza, including 3,457 children, and wounded more than 23,000. Palestinian Ministry of Health reports and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.

Gaza has been under a tight Israeli military siege since 2007, following a democratic election in occupied Palestine, the results of which were rejected by Tel Aviv and Washington.

Israeli troops push deeper into Gaza, with witnesses reporting heavy clashes after tanks reached a residential area in Gaza City.

Bombardments reported across the besieged territory as Prime Minister Netanyahu rejected calls for a ceasefire.

At least 8,525 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in Israeli attacks since October 7. More than 1,400 people have been killed in Israel.

‘Until the Aggression Stops’: Yemen’s Houthis Say They Launched Missiles, Drones at Israel

Yahya Saree, the military spokesman for Yemen’s Ansar Allah group (Houthis), said in a video on Tuesday that the group claimed responsibility for the launch of missiles and drones at Israeli targets.

The group also threatened to carry out more strikes “until the Israeli aggression stops.”

“We, driven by a sense of religious, moral, human, and national responsibility, as well as the demands of free peoples and our duty to support our oppressed brothers in Gaza, the Yemeni armed forces had no choice but to fulfill their duty, placing their trust in God, in support of the historical injustice suffered by the beloved Palestinian people,” Saree said in a video.

“Our armed forces have launched a significant batch of ballistic and cruise missiles, along with a large number of drones, targeting various Israeli enemy locations in the occupied territories,” Saree continued, adding that “this (..) is the third operation in solidarity with our oppressed brothers in Palestine.”

“We affirm their commitment to continue executing more precision strikes with missiles and drones until the Israeli aggression stops,” Saree also said.

“We emphasize that the Yemeni people’s stance on the Palestinian issue is firm and principled, and that the Palestinian people have the full right to self-defense and to attain their legitimate rights in full.”

Israel has, thus far, killed over 8,500 Palestinians in Gaza, including 3,457 children, and wounded more than 21,000. Palestinian Ministry of Health reports and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.

Despite a massive Israeli military buildup around the Gaza borders and sporadic infiltrations on the outskirts of the besieged Strip, Palestinian Resistance continues to repel Israeli attacks.

To justify its military failure, the Israeli army continues to pound civilian homes throughout the Gaza Strip with new massacres reported everywhere in the besieged enclave.

Gaza has been under a tight Israeli military siege since 2007, following a democratic election in occupied Palestine, the results of which were rejected by Tel Aviv and Washington.

By Al Mayadeen English

Hezbollah has targeted multiple Israeli military sites, causing damage to surveillance equipment, garrisons, and fortifications along the Lebanese-Palestinian border.

The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, Hezbollah, released footage documenting an operation it carried out from Saturday to Sunday from South Lebanon, targeting Israeli military sites in occupied territories.

The Resistance showcased several weapons used to target the occupation's spyware and communications systems, including anti-tank-guided missiles and sniper rifles.

Earlier on Monday, Hezbollah had announced that its fighters targeted and destroyed military-grade equipment in the "Metula" settlement in occupied Palestine bordering the Lebanese town of Kfar Kila.

Resistance fighters also targeted surveillance systems in "Bayad Blida," as well as the occupation's fortifications, making direct hits.

Farther South, alongside the Lebanese coast, Hezbollah's fighters targeted the al-Bahri and Jal al-Aallam sites in occupied Palestine, destroying military-grade equipment and fortifications.

To add to the scale of the operations carried out by Hezbollah on Monday, the Resistance targeted the "Branit" Barracks, causing direct hits to its surveillance systems, fortifications, and garrison.

Hezbollah and other Resistance factions have intensified their attacks on Israeli occupation sites alongside the Lebanese-Palestinian border and occupied Lebanese territories. These operations come in support of the Resistance in Gaza that is currently defending against an Israeli ground invasion of the Strip.

Hezbollah has also explained that it will continue to target the occupation's surveillance systems and spyware, which "Israel" utilizes to illegally access information and monitor residents in South Lebanon.

Financial Times Calls for Humanitarian Ceasefire in Gaza

By Al Mayadeen English

Source: Financial Times

The Financial Times has pointed to 'Israel's' violation of international law calling on US authorities to limit the occupation's crimes.

"Israel's" collective punishment of Palestinians in the Gaza strip must stop, the Financial Times wrote on Monday.

The report highlighted the occupation forces' murdering of more than 3,000 children as well as its aggression which has forced more than 2.3 million people to live under dire conditions.

The death toll has surpassed the combined previous toll recorded after Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since the withdrawal of occupation forces in 2005.

Moreover, the news website highlighted US President Joe Biden's remarks regarding the unreliability of official numbers published by the Ministry of Health in Gaza. The report refutes Biden's claims, saying that United Nations agencies conducted their tallies revealing "no huge discrepancies" between their numbers and the ministry's.

The article urged Biden to pressure the Israeli government to protect civilians and respect the rules of war, instead of making baseless allegations.

"Israel" continues to violate international humanitarian law in its aggression on the Strip and has not attempted to hide the "scale of devastation" it continues to lay on the Strip.

Furthermore, "Israel" continues to pressure civilians out of safe places in the northern part of the Gaza Strip where an estimated 300,000 to 400,000 people seek refuge in hospitals and schools.

In addition, the occupation has only allowed 131 trucks filled with aid into the Strip since October 7, a tiny amount compared to the 500 trucks that entered the Strip daily before the siege was tightened.

The Financial Times also shed light on the hundreds of Palestinians who have been killed by Israeli occupation forces and illegal settlers in the occupied West Bank.

The news outlet finally called for a humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip amid rising regional tensions, easing the "suffering of Palestinians."

Israeli Aggression Targets Children

A report by Save the Children states that more children have been killed in Gaza since the attacks on October 7 than those killed in conflicts around the world every year since 2019.

Referencing Palestinian Health authorities, the report stated that at least 3,324 children have been murdered so far and 36 were killed in the West Bank.

In comparison, reports from the UN Secretary-General on children and armed conflict show that a total of 2,985 children were killed in 24 countries in 2022, 2,515 in 2021, and 2,674 in 2020 across 22 countries.

Jason Lee, Save the Children’s country director for the occupied Palestinian territory, explained, "One child’s death is one too many, but these are grave violations of epic proportions," adding, "A ceasefire is the only way to ensure their safety. The international community must put people before politics – every day spent debating is leaving children killed and injured. Children must be protected at all times, especially when they are seeking safety in schools and hospitals."

As of yet, 1,000 children remain missing in Gaza and may be under the rubble. It is worth noting that children constitute over 40% of the more than 8,000 people confirmed dead in Gaza.

A typical 15-year-old in Gaza has lived through five periods of intensive bombardment: 2008-9, 2012, 2014, 2021, and now 2023.

"Israel's" occupation has caused mass suffering among generations of Palestinians as well as Palestine's neighbors including Lebanon. Ethnic cleansing and massacres are the cornerstone of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian, Lebanese, and Syrian territories.

IOF Raid House of Al Mayadeen's Office Director in Occupied Palestine

By Al Mayadeen English

Occupation forces raid the residence of Nasser al-Laham, Director of Al Mayadeen's office in occupied Palestine, assault his family, and detain his two sons, Bassil and Bassel.

The director of Al Mayadeen's office in occupied Palestine, Nasser al-Laham, confirmed that occupation forces assaulted his wife and children after storming his house in Beit Lahm, in the southern occupied West Bank, on Tuesday morning.

The occupation arrested al-Laham's two sons, Bassel and Bassil, later releasing Bassil and insisting on confiscating Bassel's phone.

On the other hand, Israeli media reported at dawn today that occupation security forces raided the residence of Saleh al-Arouri, deputy head of the Hamas political bureau, in al-Aroura, Ramallah, located in the northern occupied West Bank.

Earlier, occupation forces conducted raids in various areas of the occupied West Bank, which sparked confrontations.

In Nablus, occupation forces raided the Nablus Speciality Hospital, and in Jenin, Palestinian resistance fighters confronted the IOF in the town of Qabatiya.

Moreover, in Tulkarm, a joint statement between al-Quds Brigades - Tulkarm Brigade and Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades confirmed that "we lured an Israeli infantry force into a tight ambush in Shuweika."

65,000 Settlers Evacuate from Northern Order: Israeli Media

By Al Mayadeen English

Israeli media reported on Tuesday that the Israeli government evacuated 65,000 settlers from the northern border of occupied Palestine.

Israeli Channel 12 stated that the decision regarding the evacuation of the remaining settlers had not been made, noting that "most of them had left voluntarily, financing the evacuation costs themselves without state assistance."

This statement coincides with remarks made by Yossi Yehoshua, a military affairs analyst in the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, who stated, "Returning to Metula and Shtula is not feasible as long as Hezbollah is present."

He emphasized that the northern region is a "confluence of numerous forces with few settlers," adding that, "Nasrallah is closely monitoring and listening to developments here, making it difficult to conclude this conflict as long as the Radwan unit remains on the front lines."

As evidence of the doubt surrounding the settlers' return to the north, Benny Gantz toured the "Mabuot" Hermon Regional Council and stated, "Our victory will be when the residents of Pieri and Metula can return to their homes, with the assurance of safety and protection."

This comes after Israeli media sources confirmed that the relocation of at least 125,000 settlers from settlements in southern and northern occupied Palestine was underway.

Israeli media have previously highlighted the frustration felt by Israeli settlers in the north of occupied Palestine after they were forced to vacate their settlements following their shelling by the Lebanese Resistance.

Israeli Channel 12 noted that settlements up to 5 km away from Lebanon’s southern borders were vacated, clarifying that nearly 60,000 settlers evacuated from the north, 20,000 of whom reside in “Kiryat Shmona”.

The Israeli channel also mentioned that the evacuations took place “without prior planning,” further adding that “if the war should end today, not many would hasten to return to the North.”

On that note, earlier this month, the Israeli emergency authority and occupation army added 14 northern settlements within 5km from the Lebanese border to the evacuation plan funded by the government, following approval from Security Minister Yoav Gallant.

This comes as Hezbollah is increasing its operations targeting Israeli military bases and outposts located on occupied Lebanese lands in support of Gaza, which is witnessing daily Israeli massacres.

Russia, China Lambast US for Poor 'Attitude' in UNSC Meetings

By Al Mayadeen English

The two countries have called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, holding Washington accountable for UNSC's impotency.

Russia and China's representatives in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) have urged the United States to cooperate on a resolution that would ensure a ceasefire between the Palestinian Resistance in Gaza and the Israeli occupation.

During a meeting of the UNSC, Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Vassily Nebenzi, emphasized the need to hold "regular open briefings" on the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

The diplomat stressed the need to make the humanitarian situation a focal point of the UNSC, reiterating the need for an immediate ceasefire that the United States opposes.

Nebenzi underlined the United States' role in paralyzing the UN body's adoption of an immediate ceasefire.

"This polling situation has also been close due to the US position the Security Council has essentially been paralyzed and has still not been able to adopt a resolution with an immediate ceasefire."

The Representative underscored Washington's votes against two Russian resolutions, which he described as clear American and Israeli attempts to either eradicate Gaza's population or forcibly displace them from the Strip.

Nenebzia also questioned other Western states from abstaining from Russia's draft resolution.

In the same context China's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Zhang Jun, similarly stressed the need to focus on critical issues in Gaza.

"I hope that the US will earnestly adopt a responsible attitude and work together with members of the council," Zhang said on Monday.

China's representative underlined the urgency of reaching a ceasefire in Gaza, protecting civilians, delivering humanitarian aid, and preventing further humanitarian catastrophe.

Russia's push for a ceasefire in Gaza has been met by US vetos and condemnations, as the US continues to plan and facilitate "Israel's" aggression on the Gaza Strip.

The occupation suffered a knockout blow when resistance fighters took over the Gaza Envelope in a few hours. This incident has put Washington's strategic interests in the region at risk, as it brought to light the fragility of the occupation's military.

Operation Al-Aqsa Flood was launched on October 7 in response to "Israel's" desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and to free Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons.

The latest statistics, dating back to September this year, estimate that the occupation holds 5,200 prisoners, with the number only increasing as occupation forces launch wide-scale detainment campaigns in the West Bank.

The Palestinian Resistance has made its demands clear, saying that it would release all Israeli captives held in the Gaza Strip in exchange for the release of all detainees from the occupation's prisons.

Resistance leaders have urged "Israel's" political and military command to admit defeat and meet its demands. However, authorities insist on reassembling the occupation's dismantled deterrence by launching a ground invasion into the Gaza Strip, to "uproot" the Palestinian Resistance.

This comes after the Resistance repelled multiple Israeli incursions into the Gaza Strip on multiple axes which concentrated at the north and the northeast of the Strip.

Consequently, the occupation has ramped up its bombing of civilian infrastructure, residential areas, medical teams, and the vicinities of hospitals. This has only worsened the humanitarian situation in Gaza in an aimless attempt to pressure the Resistance to compromise.

Iraq's Hadi Al-Amiri: US Troops Need to Leave Iraq

By Al Mayadeen English

30 Oct 2023 20:08

Secretary-General of the Badr Organization, Hadi Al-Amiri expressed that the US can no longer justify the reason for its troops within the country.

The Secretary General of the Badr Organization in Iraq, Hadi Al-Amiri stated Monday that "It is time for the (US-led) international coalition forces to leave Iraq, as there is no longer a need or justification for their presence."

Al-Amiri added that as long as they were present "no one expects to build the military capabilities of the Iraqi army and other security institutions."

He expressed his belief that it was "shameful" for some to suggest that US troops remain in the country under the pretext of helping the Iraqi security forces, particularly after the great achievements of the Iraqi military and resistance in their battle against ISIS.

The secretary-general expressed that the Iraqi government must take all necessary measures to reach a specific and short-term exit schedule for the international coalition forces in Iraq, without procrastination.

He remarked that the targeting of the Ain al-Asad and Harir bases of US troops was a "natural reaction" towards the US and its bias towards the Zionist entity while it committed war crimes against the people of Gaza.

Al-Amiri stressed that such war crimes will remain a disgrace for the Zionist entity and those who stand with it, while he directed a greeting of "respect and honor" to the people of Palestine, particularly those in Gaza.

He also paid tribute to “the heroic Palestinian resistance that broke the Zionist enemy’s power and defeated the army that was said to be invincible,” and also to “the fathers, mothers, sisters, and wives of martyrs" who were patient and persevered on the path to victory,” assuring them that “victory will inevitably come.”

Meanwhile, a security source confirmed to Al Mayadeen that the Ain al-Asad air base was targeted by 4 missiles on Monday evening.

In addition, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced on Sunday morning, that it successfully targeted the al-Shadadi US occupation base in al-Hasakah countryside, eastern Syria.

At midnight between 28 and 29 October, Al Mayadeen's sources confirmed that the US occupation base in al-Omar oil field east of Deir Ezzor in Syria came under attack, leading to explosions inside the base. The sources added that the sounds of explosions were heard in surrounding areas. It is worth noting that the base has been the target of several attacks recently.

On Friday, Al Mayadeen’s correspondent reported that a strike targeted the base itself.

It is important to note that "Israel" has been warned by various groups coordinating together as part of the Axis of Resistance that in the event of a ground invasion into the Gaza Strip, the war will expand to entail multiple fronts, noting that all US bases in the region will also be prone to attacks.

5,000 US troops engaged in Israeli ground operation in Gaza: Tasnim

Around 5,000 US military forces are engaging in the "expanded" Israeli "ground operation" launched in Gaza on Friday night, security sources told Tasnim, adding that the operation involved three divisions and several brigades.

Earlier, Tasnim reported that the US military commanders took charge of the situation in the Israeli army after the Israeli leaders lost all faith in the abilities of their personnel following the humiliating defeat in Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.

While the Gaza Strip experienced on Friday the heaviest bombardment since the beginning of Israeli aggression 22 days ago, the Israeli army attempted to enter the Gaza Strip from several fronts, including al-Bureij, Beit Hanoun, Beit Lahia, and north of Khan Yunis. Their strategic goal was to split the Gaza Strip into two or three sections and cut off all means of communication in the area before launching the "next stage of the war."

It is worth noting that a few days earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that "Israel's" ground invasion of the Gaza Strip would be delayed to give the United States the chance to transfer additional air defense systems into the Middle East.

Israeli Genocide of Palestinians Compares to Hitler's Actions: Maduro

By Al Mayadeen English

Venezuela's President hails protesters all over the world who demonstrated in rejection of Israeli war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza.

"Israel's" bombing of mosques, hospitals, churches, and inhabited residential buildings compare to the practices of the Nazi fascist Adolf Hitler, Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro stated.

"The world stood up for Palestine," Maduro emphasized, in reference to popular demonstrations in support of Gaza and the Palestinian cause all over the world.

The Venezuelan President pointed to massive crowds that took to the streets in New York, Paris, Madrid, Jakarta, Istanbul, and Venezuela's Caracas. Maduro said that free people all across the globe united their voices and condemned the genocide of the Palestinian people.

Maduro described the recent protest in the Spanish capital as "the largest protest Madrid has witnessed in 40 years," where protestors declared, "This is not a war; it is a direct genocide by the Zionists."

These statements from the Venezuelan President come as the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip enters its 25th day. The number of martyrs has exceeded 8,300, with hundreds of victims still stuck under the rubble. "Israel" has intensified its bombing of the Gaza Strip, leaving "no safe zone" where civilians could seek refuge.

Thousands march in Caracas

Earlier on Friday, thousands of people in Caracas demonstrated in support of the Palestinian people, rejecting the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

"This [the indiscriminate bombing of Gaza] has awakened worldwide solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people," Diosdado Cabello, vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela said at the protest.

Cabello stressed that Palestine "will be free", adding that the occupied territories "will be returned and the rule of law will prevail in the world."

The official emphasized Venezuela's position on the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip saying, "We demand an immediate end to violence," in reference to the genocidal actions carried out by Israeli occupation forces.

Venezuelan-Israeli relations severed since 2009

Caracas severed relations with "Israel" back in 2009, when late revolutionary leader Hugo Chavez called out "Israel" for its aggression on Gaza, describing it as "state terrorism."

The Venezuelan government expelled the Israeli ambassador in January of that year and called on the International Criminal Court to try the Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, for war crimes. In April of that year, Caracas recognized the independence of the State of Palestine and established official relations with it.

On October 13, current Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro confirmed that his country is on the front line of solidarity with Palestine, stressing that "Bolivarianism cannot remain silent in the face of injustice."

He urged an immediate halt to the Palestinian people's suffering, the implementation of a ceasefire, and the initiation of negotiations based on United Nations agreements, while respecting the resolutions of both the Security Council and the United Nations General Assembly.

In his speech during the reopening of the Liberator's Birthplace and the Bolivarian Museum, located in the historic center of Caracas, Maduro called for "peace in the Gaza Strip."

Israel Will be Annihilated if War on Gaza Expands: Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister

Tuesday, 31 October 2023 3:06 AM

Ali Bagheri-Kani, Iran's deputy foreign minister for political affairs (file photo)

Iran's deputy foreign minister for political affairs has warned that if Israel’s ongoing war against the Palestinian resistance in the besieged Gaza Strip expands any further it will lead to total annihilation of the regime.

Ali Bagheri-Kani made the remark in a televised interview on Monday, commenting on the war that the Israeli regime has been waging against the blockaded coastal territory since October 7.

The regime launched the war after Gaza's resistance groups conducted Operation al-Aqsa Storm, their biggest operation against the occupying entity in years, killing at least 1,500 Israeli forces and settlers, and taking hundreds of others captive. Israel's aggression against Gaza has so far killed more than 8,300 civilians, most of them women and children.

Bagheri-Kani described the Palestinian resistance's operation against Israel as "an irreparable earthquake in the Zionist regime's military and security system."

"If the war expands [any further] we cannot say that Israel would lose, because nothing will remain of Israel to be described as loser or winner," Iran's deputy foreign minister said.

His remarks came after earlier on Monday, the Gaza-based Palestinian resistance movement of Hamas said Israeli tanks that had advanced near the territory were forced to retreat after heavy clashes.

Hamas says Israel’s nonstop airstrikes on the frontlines are proof the Palestinian fighters have the upper hand in the battle.

The movement said the regime’s limited ground incursion followed its failure to perform a broad operation in Gaza.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian official said Operation al-Aqsa Storm also caused "an earthquake in the intellectual and strategic system of the United States-led Western world and in US unilateralism."

"The Americans are [now] plagued by a strategic confusion and cannot guess the resistance's next move to make a decision accordingly," he noted.

The deputy foreign minister also touched on the messages that American officials have been relaying to Iran, adding that Americans allege through the messages that they seek to prevent further expansion of the conflict.

"However, [Americans] themselves are the main party responsible for continuation and expansion of the conflict through their unbridled support for the Zionists," he stated.

"Therefore, the main party responsible for the Zionists' crimes, after Zionists themselves, is Americans. They have said time and again that they stand by Israel without any limitations," Iran's deputy foreign minister noted.

Since the onset of the Israeli war of aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip, the US has provided the regime with thousands of weapons consignments.

Washington has been also supplying the Tel Aviv regime with ample political support by vetoing the United Nations Security Council resolutions that either hold the regime responsible for its atrocities or call for immediate cessation of its aggression.

UN Envoy: Iran Will Give ‘Decisive’ Response to Any Threat to its Security, National Interests

Tuesday, 31 October 2023 3:05 AM

Iran's Permanent Ambassador to the United Nations Amir Saeed Iravani (file photo)

Iran's permanent ambassador to the United Nations says the Islamic Republic will give a decisive response if any threat is posed to its security and national interests.

Amir Saeed Iravani was addressing a UN Security Council's session on the situation in West Asia and Syria on Monday.

The ambassador was responding to allegations raised against Iran by the United States’ representative to the UN during the meeting.

Rejecting Washington’s claims as “baseless,” Iravani said Iran has consistently upheld its commitments to promoting peace and security in the region, adding, “The effectiveness of Iran's anti-terrorism efforts, particularly against terrorist groups like Daesh, is evident to all.”

Accusing the United States of “seeking to increase escalation” in the region, Iran's ambassador emphasized, “Should it face any threat, attack, or aggression endangering its security, national interests, or people, Iran will not hesitate to use its inherent rights under international law and the UN Charter to respond decisively.”

Iravani then condemned the United States’ illegal presence in Syria, saying, “The unlawful presence of the United States in Syria -- purportedly for counterterrorism purposes but actually to support terrorist organizations -- flagrantly violates the principles of the UN Charter, international law, and Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

He added that on the opposite, “Iran's presence in Syria is fully legal and in response to an official request from the Syrian government to combat terrorism.”

“The United States must rectify its transgressions of international law and the UN Charter by discontinuing its support for terrorist groups and withdrawing from Syria,” Iran's ambassador said.

He also touched on the US role in the ongoing Israeli aggression against the blockaded Gaza Strip, which has so far killed more than 8,300 Gazans, most of them women and children.

Iravani said the US seeks to increase escalation in the occupied territories "by overtly aligning itself with the aggressor at the expense of the innocent Palestinian people."

“The United States and some Western countries have attempted to equate the Palestinian resistance and Palestinian people's right to self-defense and self-determination with terrorism, attempting to grant the occupying regime of Israel an unjust right to self-defense,” Iran's ambassador said.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian says the West is seeking to distort the facts on the ground in the Gaza Strip and legitimatize Israeli crimes in the besieged coastal enclave.

He added that while the United States’ unwavering support for occupation and aggression has rendered it a part of the problem in the Gaza Strip, Iran's primary objective is to avoid any escalation in the region.

“That is why Iran has aligned itself with the international community in endorsing the call for an immediate end to Israel's relentless military aggression, establishment of ceasefire, and provision of unhindered humanitarian aid to the people in need in the Gaza Strip,” he concluded.

Israel's Genocide in Gaza Will Not Last Even a Single Say Without US, Europe Support: Leader's Aide

Monday, 30 October 2023 4:28 PM

Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior advisor to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei

A senior advisor to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says Israel's genocide in Gaza will not last even a single day without support of the United States and European countries.

Ali Akbar Velayati, who is also the secretary general of the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening, made the remarks in an address to a conference -- dubbed Gaza, the symbol of resistance and awakening -- in Tehran on Monday.

He described the United States as the "main accomplice" to the crimes committed by the Zionists in Gaza and said Washington offers considerable encouragement to the Israeli regime.

"An entity called the Zionist regime will not be able to survive for more than a few weeks without the US support," the senior Iranian official emphasized.

He added that the unwavering political, diplomatic, media and financial support as well as military, security and defense backing provided by the US to Israel are the "main factors" behind the regime's survival.

Washington’s full support for Israel encourages the regime's killing machine as well as heinous crimes of the occupiers in the Gaza Strip and the entire occupied territories, he said.

Velayati warned that Muslims and Islamic resistance groups are running out of patience and said the Israeli regime needs to stop its genocide, violence and killing of the Palestinian people in Gaza immediately.

He also stressed the importance of lifting the Gaza siege completely, opening the Rafah border crossing for delivery of humanitarian aid, especially medicine, water and food and putting an immediate end to the bombardment and killing of innocent people, including children, women and the elderly.

Israel waged the bloody war on the Gaza Strip on October 7 after the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement launched the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity.

Since the start of the war, the Israeli regime has been committing war crimes in Gaza, killing at least 8,306 Palestinians, including 3,457 children, and injuring over 22,000 others.

The UN Children’s Fund voices concerns about the “catastrophic situation” of Palestinian children in Gaza.

It has also imposed a “complete siege” on the territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food and water to the more than two million Palestinians living in the coastal sliver.

Velayati defended the Palestinians' right to self-defense and said the Islamic resistance front in the region also makes decisions and acts based on the ongoing circumstances.

He added that the Israeli regime and the US are responsible for any possible spread of tensions and conflicts in the region.

The Leader's aide warned the international system that its failure to recognize the Islamic resistance front and its deterrent activities in the face of the occupiers would worsen the situation, the adverse consequences of which would affect the entire region and world.

He said the ongoing war waged by the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas against Israel, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, has inflicted irreparable damage on the terrorist Zionist regime.

The military operation is the manifestation of dignity, strength and resistance against a criminal regime that has carried out every possible act of crime and massacre against the Palestinians over the past 75 years, he added.

The senior Iranian official noted that the Palestinians' right to self-defense is based on the recognized principles of international law but the Israeli regime's measures in Gaza "are completely in violation of human rights regulations and a clear example of genocide."

"What the Zionist regime is committing in Gaza is beyond war crime and crime against humanity," Velayati pointed out.

He said the US, Europe, the Security Council, and other international and human rights organizations are complicit in the Zionists' crimes and genocide in Gaza and must be held accountable for their performance in this regard.

Al-Quds Brigades: Enemy Depicts False Picture of its Ground Invasion Against Gaza

Tuesday, 31 October 2023 2:07 AM

File photo of Abu Hamza, the spokesman for the al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad resistance movement

A spokesman for the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance movement has dismissed Israel’s alleged ground advances in its war of aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip.

“The [Israeli] enemy is depicting a false picture of its attempts to penetrate our land,” Abu Hamza, who speaks for the al-Quds Brigades, said in a video statement on Monday.

He added that Palestinian resistance fighters have inflicted heavy losses on the Israeli forces in many areas.

Abu Hamza emphasized that all Palestinian resistance factions “continue to confront the miserable ground maneuvers carried out by the enemy’s army in an attempt to restore confidence” among its forces.

He added that Israeli forces were in fact lured into “ambushes of terror and death” in Gaza.

His remarks came after earlier on Monday, the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas said Israeli tanks that had advanced near Gaza were forced to retreat after heavy clashes.

Hamas says Israel’s nonstop airstrikes on the frontlines are proof the Palestinian fighters have the upper hand in the battle.

“There’s absolutely no ground advance inside the residential neighborhoods in the Gaza Strip. What happened on Salah al-Din Street was the incursion of a few occupation army tanks and a bulldozer,” said Salama Maarouf, the head of the Hamas office in Gaza.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the spokesman for al-Quds Brigades said, “The results of Operation al-Aqsa Storm have appeared clearly on the enemy’s internal scene,” adding that the battle will witness a shift in favor of the resistance at all levels.

Abu Hamza also addressed the families of Israeli captives in the Gaza Strip, saying, “Your leadership is risking your children in order to buy time.”

The spokesman warned, “Every minute that passes poses a threat to the lives of captives held by the resistance amid the barbaric bombardment of Gaza.”

He added that some of the captives have already lost their lives in Israel’s indiscriminate strikes.

Abu Hamza emphasized that Palestinian resistance movements will not allow Israel to exploit negotiations on the release of captives to achieve its goals.

Israel has killed more than 8,300 Palestinians civilians, mostly women and children, since October 7. Over 21,000 others have been injured.

The regime was caught off-guard by the surprise Operation al-Aqsa Storm that Gaza-based resistance movements conducted on that October day. The operation was a response to Israel’s continuing violations of the rights of Palestinians in the occupied territories.

Israel Has Dropped More Than 18,000 Tons of Explosives on Gaza: Government Media Office

Tuesday, 31 October 2023 2:46 AM

Palestinian officials in the besieged Gaza Strip say the Israeli regime has dropped nearly 20,000 tons of explosives on the territory in its ongoing war of aggression.

“The Israeli occupation army has dropped more than 18,000 tons of explosives on the Gaza Strip since its aggression started 24 days ago,” the Government Media Office in Gaza said in a Monday statement.

It added that 10,000 people have been either killed or are still missing as a result of the intensive bombardment by the regime, which has caused large-scale devastation as well.

The office said 50 tons of explosives have been dropped on every kilometer in Gaza Strip so far.

The statement came after the media office of the Gaza-based Palestinian resistance movement of Hamas said last week that Israel has bombed Gaza with more than 12,000 tons of explosives. It added that it was equivalent to the power of the nuclear bomb that was dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima.

Earlier on Monday, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha said in a statement that Israel’s relentless bombardment of the besieged Gaza Strip constituted a war crime and a flagrant violation of international law.

He added that the Israeli airstrikes have also resulted in “wounding innocent civilians, including women, children, medical personnel and journalists.”

The OIC chief said Israel's attacks on hospitals in Gaza and the total blockade of the territory constitute “collective punishment, war crimes, and flagrant violation of international law.”

Israeli forces have “deliberately carried out attacks on hospitals, schools, places of worship, and United Nations facilities,” Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha said.

Israel waged its bloody war on the Gaza Strip on October 7 after Palestinian resistance movements based there launched a surprise attack, dubbed Operation al-Aqsa Storm, against the occupying entity.

Since the start of the war, the Israeli regime has been committing war crimes in Gaza, killing more than 8,300 Palestinians, most of them women and children.

It has also imposed a complete siege on the territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food and water to more than two million Palestinians living there.

Above Ground: What Does Gaza Resistance Look Like

October 30, 2023

By Palestine Chronicle Staff

Palestine Chronicle correspondents have reported on some of the rallies of armed Resistance groups in Gaza in recent months.

The Palestinian Resistance attack at Israeli targets in southern Israel on October 7, raised major questions, about Israel’s actual military strength, but also about the military readiness of Palestinian Resistance groups.

In Gaza, there are several armed Resistance groups. The largest in terms of numbers, strength, and military readiness is Al-Qassam Brigades, the military arm of the Hamas political movement.

It is followed by Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ).

The Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the armed wing of the socialist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), also commands a military presence in Gaza.

There are other fighting groups, all operating under the leadership of the Joint Operations Room.

Number of fighters in each movement is not clear, but rough estimates put the numbers of Qassam fighters at 30,000-40,000, PIJ at 12,000, and Abu Ali Mustafa in the thousands.

In their military rallies in Gaza, these groups often display some, though not all of their new technologies.

Palestine Chronicle correspondents have attended some of these rallies in recent months.
