Joy FM’s Super Morning Show host, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, is this week attending the World Economic Forum on Africa taking place in Dar es Salem, Tanzania.
The forum, which is an annual gathering of the most influential business and political leaders in Africa, will this year explore ways by which government and development partners can speed up growth in Africa.
As part of Joy FM's coverage, Kojo would be running interviews with top policy and business advocates on Africa’s development agenda. He would also be assessing the execution of commitments by World Bank and African government officials at last year’s forum.
Speaking on the Super Morning Show on Tuesday, Kojo said: “Listeners would recall that speaking to Joy FM at last year’s forum, former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and the World Bank Vice President for the Africa Region, Obiageli Ezekwesili, challenged African governments to take advantage of the global economic crises.
In response, African leaders committed to embark on specific policy changes aimed at making their economies more attractive to western capital. Our objective is to find out this year how much ground has been covered.”
Up to 11 heads of state and hundreds of business leaders are expected to attend this year’s forum.
A series of special reports live from the Forum in Tanzania would be aired on the Super Morning Show, Joy News and the Joy Business Report.
In his absence Evans Mensah will anchor the Super Morning Show.
