Puerto Ricans greet Obama with anti-colonial protests
San Juan, June 14.—Thousands of Puerto Rican demonstrators greeted U.S. President Barack Obama with demands of independence for the island and the release of Puerto Rican prisoners in U.S. jails, PL reports.
The presidential delegation was confronted by a large number of placards reading “Yankee go home.” For a large part of the Puerto Rican population this visit has opportunistic motives and is related to electoral fundraising. Telesur reported clashes with the security forces.
