Fidel: Guerrillero del tiempo, launched in Bolivia
LA PAZ, —Fidel: Guerrillero del tiempo, a book about the life of the Cuban Revolution’s leader, was launched April 3, in Bolivia’s Government Palace with President Evo Morales in attendance, along with a variety of important political and cultural figures, including Vice President Álvaro García Linera, cabinet members and legislators.
Traveling from Havana for the event were Abel Prieto, advisor to Cuban President Raúl Castro, and the author of the book, journalist Katiuska Blanco.
Fidel: Guerrillero del tiempo brings together Blanco’s conversations with the leader over a total of six hours, during which Fidel Castro’s revolutionary ideas emerge as he recounts his experiences.
The text reveals important events from his childhood, adolescence and family relations, and testifies to his ability to describe the people with which he shared important moments during his early years.
Fidel: Guerrillero allows a glimpse of the formative process of the man who organized the Moncada assault, who became the Commander of the Rebel Army in the Sierra Maestra, the leader, statesman and visionary who has foreseen so many of the problems now facing the world.
