President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday met with former Head of State retired General Abubakar Abdulsalami and a former president of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki.

The closed-door meeting was held inside Jonathan’s official residence at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Abdulsalami is the chairman of the National Peace Committee for 2015 General Elections.
He and Mbeki did not speak to journalists after the meeting and there was no explanation from the Presidency on why they visited the president.

But sources said the meeting was connected to the preparations for the 2015 general elections rescheduled for March 28 and April 11.
