Angolan Embassy in Cuba Shocked By Jorge Risquet Death
Havana — The Embassy of Angola in Cuba sent a message of condolence to the Cuban government and people due to the death in Havana of Jorge Riquet, outstanding leader of the Cuban Communist Party.
Jorge Risquet Valdés-Saldaña, founder of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), died Monday in Havana at 85, victim of prolonged illness.
In the message, the Angolan ambassador, José César Augusto (Kiluanji), highlighted that the deceased was "great comrade and friend of Angola".
Risquet was the first Cuban to meet the Angola's first president Agostinho Neto in 1953, in Bucharest, Romania, at the Fourth World Festival of Youth and Students," writes the diplomat.
"On behalf of the staff of diplomatic mission and on my own present sincere condolences to the bereaved family, government and people of Cuba", the message reads out.
