In response to President Raul Castro’s words, the island’s Trade Union movement and affiliated entities will demonstrate to the world this May Day, the unity of the Cuban people, their support for the agreements reached at the 7th Party Congress and the socialist and sovereign path chosen by the nation.

In the run up to May Day celebrations Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, a member of the PCC Political Bureau and secretary general of the Cuban Workers’ Federation (CTC), noted that there are many reasons to celebrate the occasion with enthusiasm and energy.

The Trade Union leader noted that actions will continue to take place around the country toward fulfilling the Party’s principal missions such as the development of the national economy, struggle for peace, unity and the ideological resolve of the Cuban people.

Staff in workplaces across the country are currently preparing for the festivities with enthusiasm. Meanwhile, non-state workers from all provinces have confirmed their participation in the acts, marches and parades in celebration of International Workers’ Day.
