DPRK Meeting Commemorates Proclamation of Socialist Labor Law
A meeting took place on April 17 at the Central Hall of Workers to mark the 40th anniversary of the promulgation of The Socialist Labour Law of the DPRK authored by President Kim Il Sung.

It was attended by O Su Yong, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Ro Tu Chol, vice-premier and chairman of the State Planning Commission, relevant officials, and officials and working people of industrial establishments in Pyongyang.

Delivering a report, O Su Yong said that President Kim Il Sung authored The Socialist Labour Law of the DPRK, which was adopted and promulgated at the Second Session of the Sixth Supreme People's Assembly on April 18 1978. It provided a solid legal guarantee for dynamically stepping up socialist construction by providing better conditions and environment for the independent and creative working life of people and further developing labour administration, he added.

Through the efforts to enforce the law the people-centered Korean-style socialist labour system proved its advantages and vitality, and the Korean people continued to make proud achievements, miraculous and innovative, in socialist construction by fully displaying the revolutionary zeal and creative ability, he noted.

He said the most advantageous socialist labour system of the country developed onto a new high stage under the outstanding idea and guidance of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

The President’s and the Chairman’s ideas and exploits for the solution of the labour issue have been carried forward by Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, he noted, calling on the working people to give full play to the advantages and features of the Korean-style socialist system by fulfilling their civic duty in their workplaces and displaying the fine trait of revolutionary comradeship and the spirit of collectivism in their working life.
