The segment looks at recent developments in the North African state of Libya where fighting is continuing between various counter-revolutionary factions some eight years after the Pentagon and NATO blanket bombing operations designed to overthrow the Jamahiriya Government of slain former leader Col. Muammar Gaddafi. At present a longtime Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) asset is poised to invade the capital of Tripoli to topple the United Nations backed regime of Fayez al-Saraj.

United National Secretary General Antonio Guterres is currently in Libya attempting to negotiate a settlement while living in a compound under the protection of the UN.

Azikiwe places the situation in Libya in an historical context noting that it was imperialism and its allies inside the country and region that destroyed the nation which was before 2011 the most prosperous in Africa.
