Sources: Hours Before President Trump's Tweets, Cummings' Home Struck In Burglary

Rep. Elijah Cummings' home was broken into early Saturday, hours before President Donald Trump began several days of tweets and verbal attacks on the congressman and his district.
According to officials, police are investigating a report of a burglary that occurred on Saturday, around 3:40 a.m. at a home in the 2000 block of Madison Avenue. Sources confirmed to WBAL-TV 11 Cummings' home was struck.
It's not yet known if anything was taken. It's also unclear if Cummings or wife Maya Rockeymoore Cummings were home when the burglary happened. A spokesman for Cummings referred all questions to police.
Cummings lives in Baltimore year-round. The House is in recess this week, and Cummings has spent that time at events in the area.
Trump was spurred to tweet about Cummings after a segment on Fox News that pointed out trash and blight in west Baltimore. However, the attacks began days after the Cummings-chaired House Oversight Committee moved to subpoena White House officials. The committee is investigating whether top officials violated federal law by sending or receiving emails or texts on their personal accounts.
