West Bank Witnesses Protest in Support of Gaza Residents

Palestinian protesters have taken to the streets in the occupied West Bank to show support for the residents of the besieged Gaza Strip, which has been under relentless Israeli aggression.
The rally was held in the city of Ramallah, where the demonstrators called on Palestinian leaders to take urgent action to protect Gazans.
Meanwhile, clashes have also erupted between Palestinian protesters and Israeli forces in a village west of Ramallah.
Tensions have been running high in the occupied West Bank since Israel launched a deadly military operation against Gaza on July 8.
Israel has been targeting the Gaza Strip with military attacks since then. The air, sea and land strikes by Israel have so far killed at least 1,458 people and injured over 8,300 others.
President of Palestinian Unity Government Mahmoud Abbas has declared the Gaza Strip a “disaster area.” In a letter to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Abbas warned that the humanitarian situation in Gaza had become “catastrophic” and urged international intervention.
Palestinian casualty figures early Friday indicated that the current conflict had become the deadliest fighting in the Palestinian territories since 1967. The year saw Israel occupying the Palestinian territories of East al-Quds (Jerusalem), the Gaza Strip, and the West Bank during the Six-Day War.
The Tel Aviv regime withdrew from Gaza in 2005, but Israeli forces have been carrying out regular deadly forays into the sliver ever since the pullout.
