Pratt, Abu Sakara Using Nkrumah Name to Make Money
Kwesi Pratt – Veteran journalist
A leading member of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) Madam Lucy Anning says its 2012 presidential candidate, Abu Sakara and Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper are not members of the party.
She alleged that the two men who claim to be socialist but with "capitalist mentality" are just using the name of Ghana’s first president; Dr. Kwame Nkrumah to enrich themselves.
“Nkrumah name is a goldmine for Kwesi Pratt and Abu Sakara; they are now millionaires so they should leave the CPP alone, Lucy Anning said this on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Monday.
Describing them as Trojan horses, Madam Anning said the CPP is on the cross-roads due to the hypocrisy and double standards of people in the party working with the NDC.
Singling out the Insight Editor, the CPP stalwart alleged that Mr. Pratt is a staunch member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who also doubles as the chief advisor to President Mahama.
“Kwesi Pratt pretends to be a CPP member just to use Nkrumah name to ‘beg for alms’ in Cuba and other socialist country but I stress that he does not believe in Nkrumah’s ideologies” she maintained.
On Abu Sakara, the CPP guru claimed he campaigned vigorously for President Mahama in the 2012 elections at the expense of the party.
“I know for a fact that Abu Sakara campaigned for Mahama especially in the three Northern regions because he [Mahama] is his brother”.
“No true CPP member will not sit aloof and watch state enterprises be sold so people like Nii Moi Thompson, Kwesi Pratt, Abu Sakara are all NDC members” she maintained.
This notwithstanding, Madam Lucy Anning said the CPP is poised for power and will expose anyone who tries to thwart their quest for power in 2016.
“We will sack all the hypocrites from the party and even if it is left with just two people, God will still help us win the 2016 elections," she added.
