JOHANNESBURG – President Jacob Zuma has congratulated students movement Cosas for its "learn without fear" campaign aimed at addressing safety in schools.

He has addressed hundreds of Cosas members at their convention at Orlando Stadium.

Zuma began his address by telling the young people that their energy should be directed towards making the country better.

The president says teenage pregnancy remains the biggest challenge in schools and says this phenomenon has robbed young girls of a better life.

“It has undermined or condemned many of our people to a life of poverty.”

At the same time, Cosas president Zama Khanyase says the student body will fully support president Zuma and anyone who doubts his capabilities will face the wrath of students.
