COSATU Condemns US President Donald Trump's Declaration of War of Aggression Against Cuba
COSATU strongly condemns the attacks on Cuba renewed by US President, Donald Trump as an affront on the sovereign right of the Cuban people to their freely chosen path of development and progress.
The policy that the US is returning to, under Trump, failed to take effect and force Cuba to denounce socialism, for over 50 years and why should he think it will work now?
We express firm solidarity with the Cuban people and support their sovereign right to a system that has proven to deliver to the poor and exposed the failures of capitalism on social justice and progressive internationalism that aids human development and struggles of the poor and working masses.
COSATU recently participated in the African Solidarity Conference on Cuba, held in Windhoek, Namibia this month and joined fellow Africans in expressing full solidarity and in returning the gesture of solidarity that Cuba unequivocally demonstrated during the dark days of colonialism and apartheid, with Africans and humanity in general.
