7 June، 2017
Damascus, SANA – Syria strongly condemned the two terrorist attacks which took place in Iran earlier today, stressing that such terrorist attacks that are backed by well-known countries will not discourage Syria and Iran from continuing to fight terrorism.
The condemnation was expressed by the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry, referring to the two terrorist attacks which targeted the headquarters of the Iranian Shura Council and the shrine of late Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in the capital Tehran, which resulted in the death of a number of innocent citizens, while others were injured.
In a statement, the Ministry voiced Syria’s full solidarity with the leadership, government and people of Iran and its condolences to the families of the victims.
Syria stresses that such “terrorist attacks backed by well-known countries and circles will not discourage Syria and Iran from continuing their fight against terrorism that is supported by countries and parties known in the region and beyond,” the Ministry said.
It concluded its statement by saying that Syria warns the countries standing behind such acts of the repercussions of continuing to fund and arm the terrorist organizations and spread extremism and Takfiri thought, which would reflect on the security and stability of the countries of the region and the world.
In the same context, the People’s Assembly condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attacks that targeted the Iranian capital of Tehran on Wednesday.
In a statement, the Assembly said that the cowardly terrorist attacks were plotted and implemented by one terrorist system in the world supported by well-known international and regional actors, calling for unifying the efforts of all countries of the world to combat terrorism.
The Assembly expressed its condolences, sympathy and support to the Iranian people on this terrible crime, pointing out that Syria and Iran are in the same trench of confronting the Takfiri terrorist organizations with the aim of achieving victory.
It also extended its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wished the wounded speedy recovery.
