Kim Chol Man Is Given a State Funeral
A state funeral for Kim Chol Man, member of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and deputy to the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, took place in Pyongyang on December 5.
Present at the funeral were members of the state funeral committee, bereaved families of the deceased and officials of Party and government organs and the Cabinet.
The coffin was carried out.
The hearse arrived at the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt Taesong through streets of Pyongyang.
Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and vice-chairman of the WPK Central Committee, and Kim Phyong Hae, Thae Jong Su, Choe Pu Il, Choe Hwi, No Kwang Chol, Ri Pyong Chol and Kim Nung O, members of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, were waiting there.
A ceremony of bidding the last farewell to the deceased took place there.
Choe Ryong Hae in a eulogy said that Kim Chol Man grew up to be a revolutionary and led a brilliant and worthwhile life under the deep trust and warm benevolence of the peerlessly great persons.
Although Kim Chol Man passed away, his exploits will always be remembered, the speaker stressed.
The remains of the deceased were buried.
Members of the state funeral committee and bereaved family members spread earth on the remains.
Placed before the grave were a wreath bearing the august name of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un and wreaths in the names of the WPK Central Committee, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the DPRK Cabinet.
The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of the late Kim Chol Man.
