Al-shabab officials claim victory over yesterdays’ fighting in central Somalia

MOAGDISHU ( Sh. M. Network) – T he Islamist officials of Al-shabab have Saturday claimed victory over the fighting between their forces and Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a that broke out at Marergur village and Dhusomareeb town, the centre of Galagudud region in central Somalia on Saturday afternoon.

Sheik Ali Mohamud Raghe (Sheik Ali Dere), the spokesman of Al-shabab fighters had held press conference in Mogadishu and told reporters that they had gained victories over the clashes in central Somalia adding that they took over more armed vehicles with more weapons during the war.

“We took over more weapons belonging Ahlu Sunna, those who were against us. Our fighters had attacked at Marergur village and they seized it. Then they pushed back the other fighters. We caught Dusomareb town immediately. We burnt two armed vehicles we also killed many of Ahlu Sunna forces there,” said Sheik Ali Dere.

The spokesman explained more on the grounds they attacked at Marergur village and Dusomareb town saying that there were people committing intimidations against the population lived there.

The latest reports say that the situation was normal on Saturday morning and the fighters of Al-shabab had returned back form both the village and the town they seized on Friday for a while.
