Lebanon Victory Day of National Resistance

May 25th… Victory Day of National Resistance, Liberating the South From Israeli Occupation

May 25, 2013

DAMASCUS, (SANA)-"Withdrawal which won't touch dignity", with this brief, Israeli General Shaul Mofaz tried to justify the reason behind the Israeli army humble defeat in South Lebanon on May 25th, 2000 which became the victory Day of the National Resistance and liberating south Lebanon after 22 years of the Israeli occupation.

The withdrawal of the Israeli occupation from South Lebanon on this day without negotiations or conditions was a defeat for Israel which Yediot Ahronot newspaper described as "shameful" calling this day as "the day of shame".

The Israeli occupation forces invaded south Lebanon in 1978 and expanded its occupation to the Lebanese lands till reaching Beirut in 1982.

The Lebanese men rushed to bear weapon and defend their homeland to establish what is known later the Lebanese National resistance to confront what had been called as "the legend army" which can't be defeated.

The resistance military operations have forced the Israeli army to retreat under the density of their processes to from an occupation line before liberating the South in 2000.

The resistance launched hundreds of special operations in the first half of 2000 targeting the sites of the occupation, forcing Israel to withdraw from Lebanon.

The day before liberation, the resistance stormed the occupation and its militias, led by Antoine Lahd, posts with bombing explosives.

The hardest strikes which the Israeli occupation received in the first month of 2000 were the assassination of Akl Hashem, one of the Israeli agents, and after two hours, the resistance targeted two Israeli military convoys, claiming the lives of three Israelis and wounding many others.

At 6:42 a.m. the Mercedes of Israeli General Benny Gantz crossed gate 93 of Fatima on the Lebanese-Israeli borders to be followed by vehicles and troop carriers into the occupied Palestinian lands abandoning an occupation barbed wire for which they paid souls and money but in vain.

On the same day and at 6:43 Israel closed its borders with Lebanon after pulling out the last soldier to end a 22 year occupation that cost it 1200 soldier.

Nasrallah: Syria's Fall Spells Gloomy Future for the Region

May 25, 2013

BEIRUT, (SANA)_Hezbullah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said that the countries and peoples of the region are threatened by the US-backed takfiri project, for it is the last the US can do to impose its control on the region.

Speaking at a central festival on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of Resistance and Liberation Day in Mashghara, south Lebanon, Nasrallah said that Syria has turned into a battlefield for imposing a political project led by the US and its allies in the region, as Syria is the ''linchpin of resistance.''

''If Syria falls in the hands of the US, Israel and the takfiris, the Lebanese resistance will be beleaguered and Israel will enter Lebanon…If Syria falls, this means that Palestine will be lost, and a bleak future awaits the peoples of the region,'' said Nasrallah.

Nasrallah said that the events in Syria are important and decisive to Lebanon ''and we have the courage to speak and act boldly at a certain historical moment…We've said that some public demands are rightful, and there are pros and cons, and that the way to reform is through dialogue without one bullet fired.''

''The Syrian leadership has agreed to sit to the dialogue table, but the opposition has rejected it and continues to do so up until this moment, in the hopes that the regime will be toppled in a short time.''

He added that the takfiris and gunmen entered Syria after being granted the necessary facilitations, which ''did not bother those who met in Jordan under the name 'Friends of Syria','' indicating that those fighting in Syria are part of an organization called '' The Islamic State of Iraq'' which have admitted that it carried out operations that spared no religion or sect in Iraq.

''We've used our relations with all powers for a political solution in Syria, '' said Nasrallah, ''but the other axis is bent on fighting to the end and rejects dialogue, although there have been acceptable compromises that the Syrian leadership accepted.''

''Neighboring countries are ready to destroy Syria for the regime to depart,'' he added.

''Does the outside opposition have any leverage on the armed groups which have taken control of some areas?'' Nasrallah asked, adding that it is well known that the takfiris dominate the armed groups and are funded and armed by Arab states.

Nasrallah added that the issue in Syria is not about reforms or a revolution of the people against the "regime", saying that "if the takfiri groups controlled Syria or Syrian provinces, particularly those adjacent to the Lebanese borders, then Lebanon and all the Lebanese people will be at risk."

"We, the peoples of the region, are facing challenges and risks, uppermost are the threat that has existed since al-Nakba, which is Israel and its intentions, and schemes, and the other one is the situation in Syria and the emergence of the takfiri movements," Nasrallah said.

He said that the US is interfering to prevent Syria from acquiring air-defense systems as it sells other Arab countries billion-worth weapons because there are assurances that these weapons will not be used against Israel.
