A deal has been announced that is being trumpeted as a formula to prevent a United States military strike against the Middle Eastern nation of Syria The Obama administration was met with broad opposition to its war drive targeting the government in Damascus.
The U.S. administration of Barack Obama has been at odds with the African continent over the continuation and intensification of illegal sanctions against Zimbabwe. Despite the holding of elections inside the country, the White House and Congress is seeking to escalate tensions with the Southern African state.
In South Africa the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) has declared victory in a series of strikes in the gold industry. Workers will be receiving a 12 percent wage increase at some of the largest firms in the country.
And finally, Gulf countries that trade in the Somalian Charcoal industry are coming under pressure to cut ties with the Al-Shabaab Islamic resistance movement fighting the U.S.-backed federal government.
Even though the federal government in Mogadishu has been endorsed by the West, it has not, along with AMISOM, been able to win the peace and security of the Horn of Africa state.
