SACP EC distances itself from the rally to undermine COSATU
13 September 2013
The South African Communist Party (SACP) in the Eastern Cape Province wishes to distance itself from the rally organised for Saturday the 14 September 2013 to be addressed by the suspended Congress of South African Trade Union (COSATU) General Secretary, Cde Zwelinzima Vavi at Whittlesea, Chris Hani District.
This is after we saw a poster publicizing the event with an SACP logo. We wish put on record the SACP is not and will not be part of the activity of this nature as part of our principled respect for internal processes of COSATU. We wish bring to the attention of the public that the SACP logo was used without the consent of the party, and thus the party is not part of mobilising for the rally.
We wish to condemn with the strongest contempt it deserves the usage of SACP logo in attempt to undermine the unity and cohesion of the federation. Our alliance and unity with this federation is most imperative than worshiping its leaders.
We wish to call upon all our members to be vigilant and not be used in any of unprincipled gatherings meant to undermine organisational interests to serve individual interests.
Issued by SACP Eastern Cape.
