Nation Succeeds in ICBM Test Launch
The Academy of Defence Sciences of the DPRK released a report on July 4 in connection with the successful test launch of ICBM Hwasong 14. The report reads as follows:
According to the strategic decision of Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea, chairman of the DPRK State Affairs Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People’s Army, scientists and technicians of the DPRK Academy of Defence Sciences succeeded in testing a newly developed intercontinental ballistic rocket Hwasong 14.
The ICBM blasted off in a northwestern part of the country at 9:00 am on July 4 and flew for 39 minutes along the preset trajectory to hit the target open waters in the East Sea of Korea.
The launch was conducted in such a way that the rocket was fired at the highest possible angle, and it turned out to have no influence on the security of the neighbouring countries.
The projectile climbed up to 2 802 kilometres and fell 933 kilometres away from the launch site.
Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un watched the whole process of the test launch and declared it is a brilliant success.
The straight success in the ICBM test launch, which signals the completion of the country’s nuclear arms programme, fully demonstrates the national strength of Juche Korea that has made drastic progress under the banner of the WPK’s new line of pushing economic construction and nuclear build-up in parallel, and the might of the country’s inexhaustible, self-reliant defence industry.
