On the afternoon of Monday, September 24, Díaz-Canel continued his intense work agenda in New York, where he met with the President of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, who had previously congratulated him on his election as President of the Councils of State and Ministers, and expressed the desire to strengthen friendly relations and cooperation in all areas of interest. This first meeting between the two leaders constituted the initial step toward that common purpose.

Later, the Cuban President exchanged with Felipe Nyussi, president of Mozambique, about the good state of bilateral relations and the historic ties of friendship and cooperation that unite the two countries.

The African leader made an official visit to the island in June 2017. Previously, in September 2015, he met with Raúl in New York, in the framework of the 70th Session of the UN General Assembly.

Monday’s agenda at the United Nations culminated with meetings between the Cuban President and the Prime Minister of Andorra, Antoni Martí; and President of Peru, Martín Vizcarra. Díaz-Canel was accompanied during all the encounters by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla.
