Jobs figures released on Friday September 6 indicate that the economy inside the United States remains depressed. Although the data says that 169,000 jobs were created in August, the labor participation rate is the lowest since 1978.
While U.S. President Barack Obama is seeking to build a false case for deepening Pentagon involvement in Syria, drone attacks are continuing in Afghanistan. It was announced that five people were killed in Waziristan by a drone in a targeted assassination.
Finally, the African Union (AU) and the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) are discussing the establishment of another African-led peacekeeping force. Earlier in the year the Seleka rebel coalition took control of the capital of Bangui.
