This classic work by the founder of the Bolshevik Party, the Russian Revolution and the Union Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) was written during the period leading up to the Great October Revolution of 1917. In chapter five Lenin discusses the Economic Basis of the Withering Away of the State.
Issues covered in this chapter include Marx's views on the nature and character of the state under capitalism and how this can be transformed under a socialist and communist society.
