Another New York City version of the Pan-African Journal aired on March 4, 2013. The program featured reports on the passage of the Gender Equality Bill in Malawi within the context of the escalating economic and political crisis inside the Southern African state.
In Egypt the United States Secretary of State John Kerry was met with protests during his visit to the North African country on March 3. Egyptians are concerned about the continuing interference in their internal affairs by Washington.
Another French soldier has been killed in Mali as the fighting escalates in the north of the vast West African nation. Reports of the death of a leading Islamist figure targeted by Paris has been met with much skepticism by international experts on the political situation in the region.
Finally, the elections in Kenya has prompted concerns over the possible eruption of political violence inside the East African state. Leading figures in the poll seem to be committed to a peaceful outcome.
