Former South African President and leader of the African National Congress (ANC), Nelson Mandela, joined the ancestors on Thursday December 5, 2013. Mandela had been ill for several months after being checked out of hospital.
Mandela had co-founded the ANC Youth League during the mid-1940s.
Along with Walter Sisulu they drafted a 'Program of Action' to take the organization towards mass struggle,
In this program we examine statements made by Mandela and interviews he delivered over the course of decades.
Mandela was the founder of Um Khonto we Sizwe, the armed wing of the ANC. He served 27 years in prison and was released in 1990.
Madiba became the first elected African president of the Republic of South Africa. His legacy will remain a cherished part of the African Revolution for centuries to come.
