As an activist in Detroit, Mr. Azikiwe is a co-founder of the Moratorium NOW Coalition, http://moratorium-mi.org/ and the Michigan Emergency Coalition Against War & Injustice (MECAWI), http://www.mecawi.org/.

Both of these organizations have been leading the fight against the banks and corporations ongoing destruction of this majority Black and working class Midwestern city. Campaigns Mr. Azikiwe’s organizations have been involved in include the fight for a moratorium on foreclosures and water shut offs and resistance to the banks’ looting of Detroit’s public resources including the theft of retiree pensions.

Since the February 2011 state capitol occupation in Madison, Mr. Azikiwe has been a frequent visitor to Wisconsin including participating in the May Day march in Milwaukee in 2011 and a supporter and guest of the Wisconsin Bail Out The People Movement for various speaking engagements. Mr. Azikiwe will speak next at a February 7, 2015 Workers World Party forum in Chicago:
