Egypt's El-Sisi Meets With African Reporters in Cairo

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi met with a delegation of journalists from 25 African countries on Sunday and spoke about the country's role on the continent, his office said.
According to an official statement by the presidency, El-Sisi spoke about the role of African media in increasing awareness about the continent by putting a spotlight on common challenges and ways to overcome them.
The Egyptian president also said that Egypt's policy towards African countries is based on mutual respect and cooperation, and that Egypt has represented Africa's interests in the United Nations and while on the Security Council.
The meeting at the Ittihadiya presidential palace was attended by Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
The delegation of journalists came to Egypt to attend a workshop organized by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development, a state body affiliated with the foreign affairs ministry.
