Somalia: Al Shabab in Somalia vows to revenge for 13 people executed in Puntland
By Abdalle Ahmed
BARAWE (RBC) Somalia’s militant group of Al Shabab has vowed on Wednesday that it will launch vengeance attacks in the northeastern region of Somalia of Puntland for executing 13 Al Shabab suspects on Tuesday, Al Shabab spokesman said.
“What happened in Bosasso yesterday is most deplorable and it has not happened in any place in Somalia or the free Muslim countries.” The group’s spokesman, Ali Mohamud Raage said in a press conference in Barawe town of Somalia.
Raage vowed that his men will revenge for all those executed in Bosasso on Tuesday blaming Puntland officials for collaborating with western countries.
“They were all innocent people and they were beheaded by apostates working for the western states.” He added. “Very soon they will taste the bitterness of their act. We will not keep silent of this”.
On Tuesday morning a firing squad in Bosasso town of Somalia’s Puntland province executed 13 suspected al-Qaeda-linked militants. One of those executed was a female.
The Puntland information minister Mohamud Aydiid said the executed people were already convicted by military tribunal in Puntland and that some of them pleaded guilty of assassinating government officials and civilians.
