Visit to China
Another Meeting with Xi Jinping

Kim Jong Un, Supreme Leader of the Party, government and army of the DPRK, met again with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse on June 20.

On October 2 1959, while on his trip to China, President Kim Il Sung planted a spruce in the compound of the guesthouse which is still healthy to convey the lovely story of the DPRK-China friendship.

Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan saw to it that the place was arranged for their meeting with their Korean counterparts, and accorded exceptional hospitality.

Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Sol Ju met again with Xi Jinping and Peng Liyuan on the morning of June 20.

They shared warm greetings with the Chinese host and hostess and expressed heartfelt thanks to them for arranging such a special occasion.

Before luncheon, Kim Jong Un had a one-on-one talk with Xi Jinping.

The two leaders shared serious views on the current situation and urgent international issues, and discussed how to boost the strategic and tactical collaboration between the two Parties and countries under the new situation.

Kim Jong Un and Ri Sol Ju sat together with Xi Jinping and Peng Liyuan to have a luncheon in a happy family setting.

The leaders and their wives, who have gotten closer and more familiar through several meetings, shared amicable talk and sincerity throughout the luncheon.

After the luncheon, the two leaders said their farewells.

Kim Jong Un expressed appreciation to the Chinese Party and government for according warm reception and hospitality with particular sincerity each time, saying he could pay a fine, satisfactory visit to China thanks to the meticulous concern and care of Xi Jinping.

Kim Jong Un and Ri Sol Ju shook hands with their Chinese counterparts, promising to see them again.

Visit to agricultural institute

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un visited the national agricultural sci-tech innovation institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science on the morning of June 20, with his wife Ri Sol Ju.

He was accompanied by Choe Ryong Hae, vice-chairman of the WPK Central Committee, and Premier Pak Pong Ju, who are members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee and vice-chairmen of the DPRK SAC; Ri Su Yong, Kim Yong Chol and Pak Thae Song, members of the Political Bureau and vice-chairmen of the WPK Central Committee; Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho, member of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee; Minister of the People’s Armed Forces No Kwang Chol, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee; other officials and members of his entourage; and Ji Jae Ryong, DPRK ambassador to China.

Accompanying him also were Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau and member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China; Cai Qi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee; Song Tao, head of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee; Chen Jining, mayor of Beijing; and Li Jinjun, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK.

He was greeted by Tang Huajun, president of the Academy of Agricultural Science of China, and leading officials of the national agricultural sci-tech innovation institute.

The institute is the central pilot base for the study of scientific and technological problems arising in cultivating flowering plants and vegetables in urban buildings and facilities and putting agriculture on an industrial basis.

It focuses on the research into and dissemination of the hydroponics of various leaf and fruit vegetables and other technical solutions to extensively incorporate modern agriculture into urban life and make green such urban spaces as dwelling house, office room and residential area.

He made the rounds of the general demonstration centre of modern agricultural technology, leaf and fruit vegetables cultivation technology research centres, urban agriculture research centre, demonstration centre for agricultural applications in residential areas and other places to familiarize himself with the achievements and experience gained in research into agricultural science and technology.

He highly praised the researchers for their great achievements that are conducive to China’s agricultural development.

He thanked the leading officials of the academy and the institute for their kind introduction and guide.

He made an entry in the visitors’ book to mark his visit to the institute, which read, “I deeply admire your brilliant achievements in research. Kim Jong Un. June 20 2018”.

The institute presented flowering plants it cultivated to the Supreme Leader.

Inspection of Beijing traffic control centre

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Sol Ju inspected the Beijing Rail Traffic Control Centre on the afternoon of June 20.

He was accompanied by senior Party, government and military officials, namely Choe Ryong Hae, Pak Pong Ju, Ri Su Yong, Kim Yong Chol, Pak Thae Song, Ri Yong Ho and No Kwang Chol. Among the entourage were relevant officials.

Accompanying Chinese officials included Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee; Cai Qi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee; Song Tao, head of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee; Chen Jining, mayor of Beijing; and Li Jinjun, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK.

Kim Jong Un was greeted by the director and other officials of the Beijing Rail Traffic Control Centre.

The control centre oversees the overall operation of the metro and trolley networks in the capital city.

The chief of the control centre introduced to the Supreme Leader in detail the journey traversed by the centre under the close concern of the Chinese Party and government leaders.

Listening to the director, Kim Jong Un looked round the Beijing metro construction museum, metro control centre and automatic ticket sale and inspection system monitoring centre to acquaint himself with the operation of the city metro and its prospect.

He said he admires the centre’s automation level and its excellent integrated control system, and wished the centre further development into a world-level traffic nerve centre.

Visit to Beijing-based DPRK embassy

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un visited the DPRK embassy in Beijing on the afternoon of June 20.

He was greeted by ambassador Ji Jae Ryong and embassy staff members. He cordially talked with them to acquaint himself with their work and living.

He had a photo session with the embassy staff and their families, as well as students studying in China.

The embassy staff were all moved to tears as they were unexpectedly honoured to see and pose for a photo with the Supreme Leader far away from the homeland.

The Supreme Leader was hopeful that they would achieve greater success in their work and study in good health.

Return home after China tour

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un came back to Pyongyang on the evening of June 20 after wrapping up his China visit.

At Beijing Capital International Airport he was seen off by Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee; Cai Qi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee; Song Tao, head of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee; and Li Jinjun, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK.

The flags of the DPRK and China were seen fluttering and an honour guard and military band of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army were standing at attention.

As he exchanged good-byes with the Chinese officials, the Supreme Leader expressed satisfaction with the results of his visit and thanks for all sincere efforts they made while accompanying him throughout the visit.

Amid the warm send-off, he and his wife Ri Sol Ju got aboard the plane.

The plane landed on Pyongyang International Airport at 7:30 pm.

There was a welcoming ceremony at the airport.

The members of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee who greeted them expressed their best wishes and offered ardent congratulations—on behalf of all the service personnel and people—to the Supreme Leader who returned home after turning another brilliant page in the annals of DPRK-China friendship.

The Supreme Leader exchanged greetings with senior Party and government officials and extended his warm greetings to his beloved people across the country.
