Africa: Covid-19 Death Toll Exceeds 122,000 Across Continent

Cape Town — As of May 3, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 4,565,548 while over 12,401,980 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.

Reported deaths in Africa reached 122,297 and  4,079,615 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases - 1,584,064 - and 54,417 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco ( 511,856), Tunisia ( 311,743), Ethiopia ( 258,384 ), Egypt ( 229,635), Libya ( 177,871 ) and Nigeria ( 165,153).
