WPK Birthday Celebrated in DPRK
Pyongyang, October 10 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea significantly celebrated the 74th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Many citizens visited the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il lie in state, and made a bow before the portraits of the smiling great leaders.

Working people, service persons, and the youth and students paid tribute to the statues of the great leaders on Mansu Hill and in all other parts of the country and their smiling portraits.

There were celebration performances in Pyongyang and local areas.

A music and dance performance of the Mansudae Art Troupe was given at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre, a concert of the National Symphony Orchestra at the Moranbong Theatre, a collection of famous songs and scenes in revolutionary operas at the Pyongyang Grand Theatre and a celebration performance of the artistes of the National Folk Art Troupe outside the Three-Revolution Exhibition House.

Circus and magic performances were given at the Pyongyang Circus Theater and the jugglery theatre of the National Acrobatic Troupe and a one-act play given at the National Theatre to the delight of working people and the youth and students.

Artistes of the provincial art troupes gave celebration performances in Phyongsong, Haeju, Kanggye, Hamhung cities and other areas.

Sports games took place across the country on the anniversary.
