Rouhani: Unsanctioned Presence of Foreign Troops on Syrian Territory is Unacceptable

Tehran, SANA- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reaffirmed his country’s opposition of the presence of any foreign troops on the Syrian land without the permission of the Syrian government.
During a press conference in Tehran on Tuesday, Rouhani stated on that the entry of any foreign troops to any other country must be under the approval of that country, andif the government and the citizens do not permit that, Iran will not support that presence or see it as a good thing.
He stressed that the Turkish military operations in Afrin is fruitless and must end as soon as possible, adding that Iran’s position about this is applicable to the illegal US troops’ presence in Syria.
On another note, Rouhani said that the cooperation between the three guarantor states (Russia, Iran, and Turkey) for the cessation of combat activities in Syria is very important for the region.
