Israeli Media: Cabinet to Cut off Palestinian Authority’s Gaza Fund

By Al Mayadeen English

Israeli media says that Israeli ministers at the Israeli political and security council decided to cut the Palestinian Authority’s funds allocated to the Gaza Strip.

Israeli media confirmed on Thursday that the Israeli security cabinet had decided to deduct Palestinian Authority funds allocated to the Gaza Strip, additionally deducting funds allocated to a number of Palestinians and their families.

“Israel is cutting off all contact with Gaza,” says the Israeli Prime Minister's office, adding that “There will be no more Palestinian workers from Gaza and the workers who were in Israel on the day the war broke out will be returned to Gaza.”

This comes amid the ongoing siege on the Gaza Strip, during which the Israeli occupation targeted vital facilities, including factories, hospitals, schools, and universities. That said, the Israeli occupation tightened the siege after the launch of Operation Al-Asqa Flood, deliberately cutting off water, electricity, fuel, and food supplies to the Gaza Strip.

In this context, UN experts considered that what is happening in Gaza is genocide, as well as a humanitarian catastrophe, a flagrant violation of international law, and a war crime.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Gaza Health Ministry announced that "We have taken exceptional measures, including suspending the mortuary refrigerator, to enable the Indonesian Hospital to operate for a few days," later adding that it appeals to the "free world and international organizations to take action immediately to bring in the fuel necessary to operate hospitals in the Gaza Strip."

The statements come amid heightened threats against hospitals in Gaza due to fuel shortages.

Moreover, the Gaza Health Ministry Spokesperson said that the "number of martyrs from Israeli aggression on Gaza rises to 9,061, with 32,000 wounded."
